Chapter 20
Leonard looked at the letter in his hand, his expression somewhat dazed. He stared at the words from Anora on the letter, lost in thought for half a day.
Did he really like Isabelle?
Leonard and Isabelle were together for a full three years.
In their two years of married life, they never had a fight, never missed a gift or anniversary. Whether in bed or in life, they were very harmonious.
Like all couples, they knew each other’s little quirks and eating habits.
He knew that Isabelle was the one with the toughest exterior but the softest heart. He also knew that she needed to have a light on when she slept to feel safe. He knew that Isabelle loved seafood but didn’t like shrimp.
He knew exactly what her subconscious gesture meant, but sometimes he deliberately ignored it and couldn’t be bothered to deal with it. Isabelle never blamed him, and would even give him shoulder massages and prepare a bath for him…
During those days, Leonard always felt that time passed very quickly.
In fact, Leonard still remembers when he proposed to Isabelle.
The weather was actually not good that day, it was a gloomy rainy day.
Leonard hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should propose to Isabelle on this seemingly not–so–good day.

discovering the venue ahead of time, her face relaxed with joy, her eyes sparkling with a captivating light as if the sun had shone into them, Leonard decisively decided to propose.
Just a simple setup was enough to make Isabelle happy, even though he didn’t ask her to wear a proper dress or put on makeup at that time.
Later, although she complained that she was not prepared at all, she still joyfully hugged Leonard.
She would even whisper in his ear, “I’m willing.”
He remembered spinning around in place with Isabelle three times at that time.
They were still riding bikes together on the cross–sea bridge, shouting on the bridge, announcing to the world that they were together, and would be happily together forever.
Those scenes all seemed as if they were still right in front of me.
Later, they got married, decorated the wedding venue together, and worried together about the decoration of their new home.
They argued under countless sunsets, and Isabelle would still cook delicious meals for him. Although the initial meals were generally too salty, with Isabelle’s efforts, everything gradually improved.
Isabelle used to take their parents to the market and even learned Chiropractic and Reflexology specifically for them.
She always faced everything with a smile, as if she would always be happy
Leonard suddenly remembered many things about Isabelle, memories.

flooding towards him like a dam opening on a lake.
That Isabelle who could be satisfied with just one marshmallow.
Isabelle, who would act coquettishly whenever he teased her.
Isabelle, who would pout if she felt wronged.
Isabelle, who always looked at him with a smile, seeking comfort.
Isabelle had seen so many times, but now it seems like he will never see her again.
With this thought in mind, Leonard really felt like there was a void in his heart, as if something had been suddenly taken away from him.
The feeling of unease and despair made him tremble all over.
He immediately asked his assistant to book the earliest flight to Australia.
He firmly held onto his own idea.
He wanted to apologize.
He wanted to confess his feelings.
He wanted to find Isabelle!
