Chapter 10 He Says No Coldly
Sebastian just came out of the bathroom, wearing nothing but a
baggy robe. The strap of his robe was tied loosely, revealing a
small part of his muscular chest. His thick hair was wet with
sparkling drops of water, which ran down from the tips of his
hair to his neck and then further down to his narrow, lean
waist.
Shirlene had never seen him like this. Right now, he was less.
cold and aloof and a bit sexier and eviler, particularly attractive.
Shirlene was stunned. She could not help swallowing again, and
she blushed slightly.
The atmosphere was becoming more and more titillating.
“Get up,” Sebastian said coldly, ruining the atmosphere at once.
“Go back to your room.”
Shirlene looked a bit hurt. She was silent for a few seconds, and
then she sat up in bed and showed him her sprained ankle.
Then she took out the ointment and said coquettishly,
“Sebastian, can you apply the ointment for me?”
Sebastian looked at her swollen ankle, and his eyes flickered.

Without a word, he took the ointment from her, dipped some
with his fingertips, and then applied it on her foot.
He gently applied the ointment to her ankle with slight force.
Shirlene smiled brightly and non–stop as she saw how intent he
was. The fragrance of his body shower gel mixed with the pungent smell of the ointment lingering on the tip of her nose, and she somehow found that it smelt great particularly.
“Sebastian, are you still mad at me?” Shirlene asked tentatively.
Sebastian paused and lowered his eyes, making it impossible for her to see the emotion in his eyes.
“That day when at the bar celebrating for Nolan, things weren’t what you thought. In fact…”
Sebastian suddenly stood up, looked at her with cold eyes, and said, “You don’t have to explain it to me.”
After a pause, his voice went even colder, and he said greatly sarcastically, “You never explained anything to me before anyway!”
Shirlene suddenly thought about all the stupid things she had done for Nolan and how deeply she had humiliated Sebastian. She was suddenly at a loss for words.

Sebastian looked at her in silence for a second, and then he
turned and headed for the door.
Looking at his back, she quickly jumped up and hugged his
waist from behind.
“Let go,” Sebastian said coldly.
“No!” Shirlene said cheekily. She simply chose to act shamelessly
and said, “I’ll let go only if you agree to move into the bedroom
with me.”
There was a flash of shock in his eyes, and then his face turned
livid.
He clenched his fists, looked at her sharply, and sneered,
“Shirlene, can you insult me more? How can you try to make a
deal with me with a thing like this?”
He thought, “I locked Nolan up for an extra day, and she’s so
worried? She is even willing to trade herself with me in
exchange for Nolan’s safety?”
“I… Shirlene was puzzled. She thought, “What did I say wrong?
Why is he reacting like that?”
Sebastian was burned with anger. He shook her hands away
and left angrily.

Shirlene froze in situ, not getting what had happened.
A few minutes later, there was the sound of a car engine outside
the villa.
Sebastian left.
Shirlene’s eyes dimmed, and she felt indescribably sad.
Dejected, she walked back to the bed and looked at the ointment
on the nightstand, feeling bitter and frustrated.
She thought, “Given how Sebastian acted tonight, I figured that
he was still in love with me, and that’s why he cared so much
about me. He was worried about me, which was the reason why
he was mad at me and snapped at me. Yet now that I think
about it, am I being a little too sentimental?
“Is it possible that he doesn’t love me at all? Was it just a fantasy
before I died that he ran into the fire to save me?”
She bit her lip, and the more she thought about it, the sadder she became. She buried her head in Sebastian’s pillow and cried in a
low voice.
The next day, Shirlene woke up, her eyes swollen utterly.
She looked around the room and saw no sign of Sebastian, and

then she reached out only to feel the place beside her cold.
Realizing that he didn’t come back last night, she lowered her
eyes silently.
She thought, “It seems that Sebastian hates me so much. He
chooses to stay out all night just to avoid me.”
She sniffed and felt a slight pain in her throat and nose,
especially in her eyes.
She went back to her room, went into the bathroom, looked up,
and saw herself in the mirror. She was startled.
Her face was ghastly pale and bloodless. Her eyes were red and
swollen, and there were even dark circles under them. It looked
like she was dying.
She thought, “What the heck? I look so miserable.”
She frowned, washed her face with water, and went
downstairs.
“You’re up, Mrs. Pearson,” Alissa greeted her, went over with breakfast, and was shocked to see her.
“Mrs. Pearson, are you … sick?” Alissa put the breakfast down, wiped her hands, and reached over to feel Shirlene’s forehead.

“You’re burning. You need to take some medicine.”
Shirlene shook her head weakly. “Did he come back after he left
last night?”
Alissa, slightly solemn, shook her head. As if thinking of
something, she said, “I’ll call Mr. Pearson and let him know.”
Shirlene pulled her, depressed. “Forget it. He probably doesn’t
want to know anyway.“”
Alissa looked at her fondly, worried deep down.
“Mrs. Pearson, you…”
Shirlene waved her hand, smiled at Alissa sadly, and turned
back upstairs.
Alissa called Sebastian at once.
Sebastian was in a meeting. The atmosphere in the conference
room was particularly suffocating, and everyone could tell that
he was in a bad mood today.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He looked down at it, and when he
saw that it was from the villa, his eyes flickered.
“Meeting adjourned.”
Chapter 10 He Says No Coldly
He picked up his phone, got up, went to a room next to the
conference room, and answered the call.
“Speak up.”
“Mr. Pearson, Mrs. Pearson is sick,” Alissa said, flustered.
Sebastian clenched his fingers while clutching the phone, and his voice tightened. “What happened?”
“Mrs. Pearson seems to have caught a cold. She is burning a bit. And her eyes are so swollen. It seems like she has been crying.
for a long time.”
Hearing those last few words, Sebastian pursed his thin lips.
“I see.” No one could tell what his emotions were from his voice.
“I’ll ask Simon to go over. Don’t tell her. Just tell her that you
called Simon.”
Alissa paused for a second and then asked tentatively, “Won’t
you come back to check on her?”
Sebastian, on the other end of the line, was silent for a second, and then he said no coldly.
Alissa hung up the phone and sighed heavily.
Simon arrived soon.
Chapter 10 He Says No Coldly
Alissa knocked on Shirlene’s door. “Mrs. Pearson, Mr. Wilson is
here.”
Shirlene was asleep, and she woke up immediately.
She got dressed and went to open the door, and when she saw
Simon standing outside the door, she was stunned.
“Why are you here?”
Simon stared at her face for a few seconds and then couldn’t
help but chuckle. “Did Sebastian beat you?”
Shirlene stared at him and said flatly, “This isn’t funny at all.”
Simon touched his nose awkwardly. “I just never thought you’d
cry so miserably like this for Sebastian one day.”
