Chapter 17 Their Relationship
Shirlene felt a bit sad with other feelings beyond description.
“Why are you standing there?” Buena sounded annoyed.
Shirlene took a deep breath, crossed her arms, and looked at
Buena and then Sebastian. “Don’t you want to explain this?”
“Nothing to be explained.” Sebastian’s voice was cold. He was
expressionless.
Hearing this, Buena grabbed the bag in her hand with surprise
in her eyes.
She didn’t expect them to know each other.
Somehow, Buena felt insecure. After a moment of thinking, she
turned to Sebastian and smiled, “Why don’t you go first? I’ll see
you after I get things done.”
Sebastian glanced at Shirlene coldly and said in a deep voice,
“Let’s go.”
Buena suddenly felt relieved and put on a smile. She took his
arm and said softly, “OK.”

Sebastian looked unnatural, but he lowered his eyes to look at
Buena’s hand and didn’t refuse.
It pleased Buena, who looked at Shirlene more proudly as if she
had been Sebastian’s girlfriend.
Shirlene finally realized how Sebastian felt when she was
obsessed with Nolan.
Although she had never betrayed him, it was annoying to know
this. The same went with Shirlene now. At that moment,
another woman was holding her husband’s hand.
Shirlene bit her lips and stopped them.
Buena was surprised. She said in a disapproving tone, “Ms.
Osborne, don’t embarrass yourself. You will only lose face if you
keep doing this.”
“Sebastian, we need to talk.” Shirlene’s voice was low. She
seemed to be sobbing.
Seeing her sad face, Sebastian pressed his lips. “We don’t need to
talk. I won’t say yes.”
He thought, “You want me to apologize to Nolan?
No way!”

“It will never happen.” Sebastian’s voice was cold.
Despite Nolan’s bad attitude towards Shirlene, Shirlene didn’t
change her mind. It made Sebastian feel ridiculous.
If that was what Shirlene wanted, he would let her have her
wish.
Shirlene had an upset face. She didn’t know he cared about
Buena so much.
She clenched her fists and lowered her eyes to hide her sadness.
“I see…”
After pausing, she took a deep breath and forced a bitter smile.
“I’ll leave you alone then. Bye.”
Then she turned around and walked to the stairs quickly. She
worried that she might cry in front of them if she stayed any
longer. That would be so embarrassing.
Sebastian looked at her as she left. Then he looked at her injured
ankle. Apparently, Shirlene was limping.
She hadn’t recovered yet. “How could she wear high heels?” he
thought.
He put on a dark face, took out his phone, and texted Donald.

“Wait at the gate of Heyday Edifice and send her home.”
Buena had been observing Sebastian. Seeing that he stared at
Shirlene and texted someone, she felt a bit jealous.
“Mr. Pearson, are we leaving now?” Buena used a gentle voice
on purpose. A touch of shyness spread over her indifferent face.
Hearing her voice, Sebastian then realized that someone was
with him.
“Let’s go.” Sebastian’s tone was cold. He directly pulled out his
om her hand and reached out to tidy up his suit. Without
waiting for her, he walked forward fast.
It puzzled Buena, who didn’t know why he suddenly changed
his face. He looked the same way as he did when they first met.
Buena thought he admitted her identity as his companion when
he let her take his arm before Shirlene. But…
At that moment, Buena suddenly realized something. She
looked in the direction where Shirlene left, pondering.
Shirlene walked out of Heyday Edifice in low spirits. Then she
saw a black Porsche stop in front of her.
The window was put down. Donald poked his head out from

the driver’s seat. “Mrs. Pearson.”
Seeing him, she wasn’t surprised at all. After all, she just met
Sebastian.
She thought for a while, opened the door, and got in.
“Mrs. Pearson, are you going home now?” Donald asked with a
smile.
Shirlene sat in the back with her arms crossed. Looking outside
the window, she didn’t answer but said, “Donald, I have some
questions.”
Donald paused. “What?”
“Did Sebastian and Buena know each other before?” Shirlene bit
her lips and asked in a nervous tone.
Donald was surprised. He didn’t expect her to care about this.
Before, Shirlene would ignore it and never take it seriously.
Donald pondered and answered objectively, “Mr. Pearson was
invited to a party and needed a companion. Ms. Buena
Hayworth is the best choice.”
Shirlene thought, “The best choice? How come? I’m his wife!
Shouldn’t he bring me with him to the party?”

Shirlene grabbed her dress with grievances.
For a moment, she forgot that she had told Sebastian not to ask
her to go to parties with him. She claimed that she would
always say no. It was deep in Sebastian’s mind. So he always
went to parties with other women when necessary.
Shirlene didn’t care before. Even if Sebastian and another
woman hit the headlines, she didn’t mind. But now, she felt bad.
Shirlene looked down on herself.
“Where are they going?”
Donald hesitated. After all, Sebastian only asked him to send her
home, not to answer all her questions. If he said anything
wrong….
“Mrs. Pearson, he didn’t ask me to…”
Shirlene understood and said sulkily, “Never mind. You should
send them there. I’ll go home by myself!”
Then she opened the car door and got off. She ignored Donald’s
shouts.
Debby found that Shirlene came out of a Porsche. It didn’t
arouse her attention at first. But when she saw the license

tablet, she frowned.
The car was nothing special. But the license plate was special. It
meant more than money.
She remembered that it was Sebastian’s car.
“How would she get into his car?” Debby thought.
“Why didn’t you get out of that car?” Debby lowered her voice.
“You’re famous. You need to be careful. It will affect your career
if there are rumors.”
Debby glanced around and continued when she found no one
around, “I’ve heard that Buena is close to Sebastian. She must
have a backup since she enjoys such a high status at such a
young. People think that her backup is the CEO of the Pearson.
Group.
“The management tried to learn something from Buena, but she
was prudent. Her answer was ambiguous. But she seems to
have something to do with Sebastian according to her words.”
