Chapter 8
Jessica probably told Professor Harris that she and Ryan were just collabing for clout–too bad she and Ryan were actually hooking up.
Once that came out, there was no way Harris was gonna keep covering for her on campus.
It was time to end this.]
I dropped a set of screenshots on Twitter–logs from the night Jessica used my phone to look up porn sites.
They showed what device accessed them, and the browser history matched her phone.[]
Campus IT had the full IP data. []
Took me skipping a few dinners and owing my computer science professor more than a couple favors before he finally agreed to help me pull it off.
But it was solid proof–I wasn’t the one watching that crap.
And anyone who’s seen Jessica’s busted–ass phone would recognize it in a second.[]
e.]
Before the comments could even react, I posted the audio Megan gave me.
“All you have to do is grab Mia’s phone and send a few messages.”
“I’ll pay you thirty grand. Deal or not?”
Anyone who’s watched Jessica’s streams would recognize her voice instantly.
As for the whole “I bullied her” lie?[]
I didn’t have much proof–just the video of her smacking a dog and getting chased till she face–planted on the quad.]
That went kind of viral on campus for a bit.
Not every day you see someone get wrecked by a golden retriever.
It was more than enough.
This whole fake drama she’d staged? Totally exposed.]
The internet flipped so fast it gave me whiplash–like biting into a juicy apple and realizing it’s gone rotten.]
Jessica’s perfect influencer image went up in flames, and everything she made me suffer?
She got back tenfold
But honestly?
That was nothing compared to what she did to me in my last life.
Someone like her deserves real consequences.
Leaking my private photos. Spreading lies. []
That’s illegal
According to the privacy laws, peeping, recording, or sharing someone’s personal info without permission can land you in jail for up to ten days or slapped with a fat fine]
And that’s not even counting the psychos who sent my family hate mail and threats
They all got hit with cease and desist letters from my lawyer.]
They picked Jessica up right after finals.
She barely walked out of the testing hall before the cops showed up and cuffed her.
I went with them–after all, I was the one who called it in.]
Once I finished my statement, I asked to see her.
I still didn’t get it. After everything… why me? Why ruin
my
life?
She just looked at me and started laughing.
At first it was small. Then manic. Then full–on sobbing between the cackles.
“You think I ruined your life?” she screamed.]
“This is all your fault! You took everything from me!“]
“Harris promised me that scholarship!“[]
“I was supposed to be the one they noticed! I’m prettier than you–why the hell would they choose you over me?!”
“If it wasn’t for you, none of this would’ve happened!”
She lunged at me, tried to swing.
The officers caught her just in time, slammed her back against the desk and pinned her down.]]
Even when she couldn’t move, she kept glaring at me like she wanted to tear me apart.
Like she’d poison me with her eyes if she could.
Jessica only stayed locked up for ten days.
But the school? They expelled her.
And Ryan.
And Harris, too.
Yeah–I dropped the whole Harris–and–Jessica sleeping–together bomb on the Dean.
No way that creep was walking away clean.]
The internet moved on, as always.
A new scandal dropped, and the trolls marched off to their next target.
My life?
Got quiet again.
Sometimes, I almost forget the last life ever happened.]
But who cares?
This ending. this one’s better
Heard someone spotted Jessica working as a bartender at some dive bar
Iteard she married Ryan too!]
Chipers
Good. Hope they stay together forever.
Just keep the hell away from the rest of us.]
“Did you hear-”
“Girl. Did you finish the damn Slides or are you seriously trying to gossip right now?“]
Taylor groaned and threw her head back.]
“Who the hell invented Slides?! I want names.”
“Send me a template before I scream.“]
Outside, the moon was high and the breeze carried the chill of night across the campus.]
Through the windows.
Through the dorm.
out into the world.
