Luna Amelia, I really appreciate you donating blood for me. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably still be dizzy. Logan, please, can we take Luna Amelia home with us?
Logan affectionately ruffled Sophie’s nose:
“My most kind–hearted pregnant little darling, whatever you say goes.”
Though I had planned to go back and collect my luggage, I didn’t reject Sophie’s “kindness.”
In the spacious black car, just as Sophie had hoped, I soon found a pair of lace panties in the narrow gap between the seats, still damp.
“Oh my–Logan! You promised you’d cleaned this up!
Chapter 4
Biting her lip, Sophie smuggled into Logan’s embrace, playfully punching his chest with a shy smile.
Logan chuckled, apologizing that it was all his fault, while subtly observing my expression.
When he noticed that I wasn’t angry at all, that same unsettling feeling from the hospital room earlier came rushing back.
“Amelia, you’ve been staring at your phone ever since you got in the car.”
His tone was less than friendly, as if he was jealous:
“Are you chatting with your cousin, or someone else I don’t know?”
After booking my flight tickets, I turned off my phone screen:
“I was just browsing the news”
Hearing this, Logan’s displeasure only grew more apparent.
Taking advantage of my distraction, he snatched the phone from my hands and demanded my password in a low voice.
“My birthday.
Having sealed the mate bond for nine years, such a simple six–digit number, he tried entering it repeatedly, but the phone remained locked.
The rest of the ride was silent, and we finally arrived at the packhouse.
As the car came to a stop, Logan gently helped the nauseous Sophie to the master bedroom and then instructed the servants to make her favorite food.
When he came downstairs, he saw me walking toward the guest room, a lonely figure. After a moment, he turned to the servant.
“Make two of Luna Amelia’s usual dishes as well. Set the table for three.”
In the guest room, I opened my luggage, only to find that all my clothes had been cut to pieces.
Thankfully, my passport and important documents in the inner layers hadn’t been damaged.
Just as I gathered my documents and prepared to leave, Sophie blocked the door.
Holding a black bottle in her hand, she looked me up and down with disdain:
“Amelia, I’m impressed. Even after being humiliated in front of the entire pack, you still cling to Fullmoon like a starving mutt. Well, it makes sense now. Your Moonprayer Pack’s old matriarch passed away last month, Without that support, you’re holding on to Logan like a lifeline.”
At that moment, Sophie remembered something amusing:
“Amelia, do you know why Dogan refused to fly you to the hospital to see your grandmother one last time? It’s because he had promised to take me to the beach to watch the sunset. Look, this is a kissing photo from that time.”
With a sharp slap, I knocked Sophie’s phone from her hand. In an instant, I grabbed her by the neck, unable to bear it any longer.
The bottle slipped from Sophie’s hand, and I immediately smelled the sharp odor of gasoline.
In the chaos, Sophie hurriedly lit the gasoline on the floor.
Thick sinuke billowed, and the flames surged.
Still recovering from my recent hospitalization, I was quickly overcome by the smoke, my strength fading as I collapsed to the ground.
Then I heard Logan’s voice:
“Amelia!”
Following that were the servants trying to stop him:
“Alpha, it’s too dangerous. You can’t go in yet! Wait for Beta to bring the fire extinguisher-
“Get out of the way! Amelia is still in there!”
Despite the danger, he rushed into the building
What he didn’t expect was that Sophie was also inside.
“Logan, help me-
Chapter 4
I watched his back as he walked away, and all hope drained from my heart.
My wolf whimpered softly.
I watched my mate carry another woman away from the burning ruins.
Slowly, I closed my eyes_
