Chapter 9
I had already signed the divorce papers.
I was transferring the entire estate to Julian at no cost.
After all, there was nothing left worth clinging to.
However, as I turned to leave the estate, the housekeeper suddenly ran out, her face flushed red with anger.[]
“Ma’am… last night I kept watch on Ms. Emma for you. I’m sorry to say this, but she’s absolutely shameless! She tricked Mr. Julian into doing… disgusting things. You have to do something!“]
I smiled and replied casually, “Our seventh anniversary is in two days. I’ve already planned some surprises. It’s a special day–I don’t want any fighting.“[]
The housekeeper sighed helplessly.
She’d always thought I was too blindly loyal.[]
Especially around Julian, I always played the obedient “maid” who could be dismissed at any time, without dignity.[]
I saw the disappointment in the housekeeper’s expression but didn’t explain anything.
I left the estate and handed the documents to my assistant.
The next day, everything was finalized.
I received my permanent foreign residency.[]
And an official paper certificate–the divorce decree.]
It was time to leave.

That afternoon, I sat in the airport’s VIP lounge.
Through the glass, I gazed at the azure sky.
I gripped the divorce certificate in my hands and suddenly felt… relieved.
In less than twelve hours, it would be Julian’s and my seventh wedding anniversary.
I smiled and called the housekeeper, speaking gently: “Please pick up a package for me later. It contains my seventh anniversary gift for Julian. Make sure to deliver it to him personally.“]
She agreed.
After hanging up, mechanical announcements echoed through the terminal, urging passengers to proceed to boarding checks.
I stood up and calmly glanced at my watch.
My seven years of youth–consider it compensation for those two weeks Julian suffered during the kidnapping.
He should feel grateful, shouldn’t he?]
After all, he’d finally found his so–called soulmate.[]
He no longer needed me, his plain, clumsy little housekeeper–wife.]]
Maybe when he saw the divorce papers, he’d even appreciate my self–awareness.
I quietly laughed at myself.[]
