Chapter 18
Emma crouched on the ground, completely naked, tirelessly and enthusiastically pleasing Julian.[]
While the usually reserved and cold Julian sat at his desk, his face slightly flushed, his gaze vacant.]
Julian’s eyes widened.[]
He instinctively explained, “It was drugs! Emma drugged

I mocked coldly, “Did she force you into bed? Or are you going to tell me you ‘accidentally got her pregnant too?“]
Julian wanted to continue explaining.[]
I didn’t want to listen anymore.[]
I looked at Gideon and said wearily, “Please take him out.”
“Alright.”
Without hesitation, Gideon pressed the intercom to call security upstairs.[]
Julian instinctively looked at Gideon’s face, pressed his lips tightly together, and finally said coldly, “What about him? What is he to you–just a substitute?”
Gideon froze.]]
Standing in front of Julian, he looked like a pale imitation.[]
They looked so similar that anyone would think I was using Gideon to heal the emotional wounds Julian had caused.]
The room fell into silence.]
Everyone was waiting for my answer.
I remained silent for a moment, not responding immediately.[]
Julian gradually relaxed, his heartbeat calming down. He glanced at Gideon with that familiar condescending look.[]
Julian believed that my few days with Gideon couldn’t compare to our seven years.[]
However, just as he was about to walk toward me, I finally spoke.[]

My voice was soft but firm. “I originally thought that when facing Gideon, I would imagine your face or pretend he was you.“]
“But I didn’t”
“Actually, before marrying you, I briefly dated Gideon. The reason for our breakup was simple–it looked like I’d fallen for someone else and been caught, but in reality, your personalities were so opposite that I couldn’t connect him with you at all.“[]
At this point, I looked up, staring sharply at Julian
“So do you understand? Every second I’ve been with Gideon, I haven’t thought about you. Not even for one second.“]
In the past, I’d fought so hard for this marriage]
Chapter 18
Even though Julian was tired of me, I desperately tried to maintain that undignified marriage, as if persisting meant winning.
But later, I discovered the truth.[]
I was wrong.
Divorce was liberation for me. At least now, I no longer felt inferior and pitiful because I loved Julian.[]
I looked up.
My eyes were exceptionally clear: “Emma is pregnant, Julian. If front of your ex–wife.”
I paused, my tone becoming somewhat harsh.[]

“You’re thirty years old, Julian. You’re not young anymore.“]]
After I finished, security arrived and escorted Julian out.[]
I stood by the floor–to–ceiling window, watching Julian move sluggishly down the street, unsure whether I felt satisfaction or bitterness.]
But in that moment, I realized something:
Everything was over.
Even the deepest pain would eventually pass.[]
1 blinked, suddenly turned around, and embraced Gideon.[]
I greedily absorbed the warmth from his body.
I closed my eyes, inhaling the cedarwood scent that belonged to Gideon, and realized: I didn’t actually like the bergamot fragrance.
I had just gotten used to it.]
Goodbye, Julian.
Forever.
