Chapter 4
When I next woke, it was already noon.
I came downstairs in my spaghetti–strap nightgown and immediately spotted Gabriel at the dining table.[]
I paused at the corner, my gaze fixed on the back of his head.[]
As if sensing my stare, Gabriel turned to look at me, frowning with displeasure: “Why are you up so late?“]
I composed myself and descended with elegant steps, sitting beside him and giving him a reproachful look:[]
“It’s all your fault! You were so wild last night that I couldn’t keep up!“[]
Gabriel’s breathing hitched, and the knife he was using to cut his steak scraped across the plate with a harsh sound.[]
I feigned confusion: “What’s wrong?”
Gabriel’s gaze immediately fell on the red marks visible on my collarbone and chest.[]
I pretended to blush but couldn’t help expressing my satisfaction:[]
“Babe, you were amazing last night! I’ve never felt so satisfied before!“||
Gabriel’s breathing grew heavier, his hand clenched into a fist, his voice cold as ice: “Never… felt that way before?”
I covered my mouth in mock regret, then winked playfully:]
“Did I say something wrong? Oh wait, you’ve always been amazing!“]
Gabriel froze, his face turning as dark as the bottom of a burnt pan.]
I pretended not to notice, looking at him with admiration: “But last night, you were especially incredible!“]]
Gabriel stared at me vacantly, as if he’d forgotten how to think.
I stood up and wrapped my arms around his neck from behind, whispering in his ear with a coy voice:[]
“But you really don’t know when to stop, do you?“]
“The bathroom was one thing, but against the window? What if someone saw us? I would’ve died of embarrassment!“]
Gabriel’s jaw was clenched tight.]
After several deep breaths, he grabbed my hand and pushed me back to my seat.[]
“Eat your breakfast!“]]
1 obediently picked up my knife and fork.[]
But after multiple attempts to compose himself, he slammed down his cutlery and stood up abruptly.[]
“I have something to do need to go out!“]
I nodded understandingly: “Go ahead, and remember to bring me back a strawberry cupcake!“[]
Gabriel’s hands clenched into fists at his sides as he muttered through gritted teeth: “Got it.“[]
Being summer vacation, I didn’t need to go to school.]
After breakfast, I sat in the glass conservatory with my laptop, researching some information and ordering a few items. By the time I closed my computer, it was nearly evening.
Outside, the sunset blazed gloriously; inside, flowers bloomed in abundance.
I had to admit, wealthy people truly knew how to enjoy life.
I stretched luxuriously, genuinely appreciating the moment.[]
Just then, a tall figure approached, bending down to remove the frameless glasses from my nose.]
I looked at him in surprise, momentarily unable to distinguish whether he was Reed or Gabriel.[]
After all, the twin brothers were incredibly similar.[]
But after last night’s intimacy, I’d noticed subtle differences.[]
Reed had a tiny red mole at the corner of his eye, almost invisible unless you looked carefully. And he had a scar on his chest, like an old wound.[]
“Hungry?”
Reed waved a small cake at me, asking.
I immediately realized who he was and pished to hug his arm, kissing his cheek: “Thank you, Gabriel!“]
Then I unwrapped the cupcake and scooped some strawberry frosting with my finger, offering it to Reed:[]
“Try this, it’s delicious!
Reed’s eyes flickered, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he opened his mouth and took my entire fingertip between his lips.[]
“WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?!“]
Suddenly, an angry shout came from the conservatory door.
Gabriel had
