“Um…”
I hurried to catch up, pulling out the only chocolate bar from my pocket.
“Um, you’re wearing armor. Are you going to war? Who are you fighting? This is chocolate. Dragons and Snow Hares can eat it, but it’ll kill dogs.”
“You’re taking me in, so I want to give you a thank you gift. Take it. Just in case.‘
“”
I nearly ran into his back.
く
Cloudy turned around, and his eyes narrowed.
Wars between clans weren’t exactly a secret.
But why was I, a newcomer, more concerned about war than survival?
Cloudy’s gaze was like ice.
I stumbled back, stammering.
“I guessed. Your people are carrying dog- beating sticks, you’re wearing armor, and
you’re in a hurry. I figured something big was about to happen.”
Cloudy said nothing

Cloudy said nothing.
The chocolate bar was starting to melt in my
hand.
If he didn’t take it soon, it would turn into a sticky mess.
I didn’t even need to bother.
Last time, the Dog Clan had learned some kind of formation spell out of nowhere.
Cloudy got badly hurt playing hero.
If I did what Brittany did before and played nurse, I could’ve won some brownie points

and secured my place in the Dragon Clan.
But even though the Dragon Clan loved to
fight, they weren’t warmongers.
They tried to keep the peace in this world.
Last time, when Cloudy was too hurt to fight back, a lot of clans started wars out of nowhere. A lot of people got hurt.
I might not be a Dragon Clan member, but I was from a time when peace was good.
After holding my hand out for too long, my wrist started to ache, and my hand trembled.
<
Just when I thought I couldn’t hold on any
longer, a cold, strong hand snatched the
chocolate bar.
Cloudy ordered someone to take me back to
the palace.
Then, he headed off to fight the Dog Clan
with my secret weapon.
Unlike the Snow Hare Clan’s simple buildings,
everything here was huge.
The floors were covered in marble tiles.
Luxurious.
The dragon kid who led me in kept giving me the tour.
This was Cloudy’s palace, where he worked.
No riff–raff allowed.
That open space was Cloudy’s training ground.
No riff–raff allowed there either.
And that pavilion was where Cloudy relaxed.
“I know!” I said. “No riff–raff allowed, right?”
The dragon kid waved his hand, his face

expressionless.
“That building is for women who adore the
prince and who are adored by the prince.”
Oh! A fan club exclusive!
“What do you do in there? Admire his
paintings? Look at his weapons? Do you have to pay?”
The kid’s eyes widened.
“Lady,” he said. “There’s none of that in the
pavilion. There’s just a big bed and a
bathroom.”
<
“If a lady who adores the prince and who is adored by the prince visits, the two of them
can cuddle in the pavilion and get to know
each other.
“”
The kid seemed so pure.
He acted like he was talking about something normal.
