Chapter 11
Half a month later. I sent Nicholas a grand gift!]
Inside the envelope was a stack of yellowed old photographs and a paternity test report.
In the photos, a young Marianne was embracing a strange man in a chauffeur’s uniform, holding two babies in swaddling clothes.
Nicholas’s hands began to tremble as he flipped to the paternity test report–the results showed he had no blood relation to George Hampton, while the strange man’s DNA was a perfect match.[]
That man was the Hampton family’s former driver, and Nicholas’s biological father.
What completely broke him was another intimate photo attached to the report, showing Vanessa with another man.[]
That man looked exactly like Nicholas![]
Nicholas had a twin brother, and the child in Vanessa’s belly was his brother’s![]
nturned
turned out that years ago, Marianne had an affair with the driver and gave birth to twins.[]
The driver secretly took one child away, while Marianne passed Nicholas off as Hampton blood.]]
All these years, the driver had been secretly watching Nicholas, until he discovered Nicholas’s infertility.]
So Nicholas’s twin brother and Vanessa had conspired together.]
After reading all the materials, Nicholas collapsed to the floor, his face deathly pale
Nicholas completely lost his mind.[]
He grabbed a kitchen knife and rushed out, heading straight for Vanessa’s room]
His eyes were bloodshot, muttering incessantly: “Bastards… all bastards…”
Vanessa was lying on the sofa playing with her phone. When Nicholas burst in, before she could react, he slashed her shoulder with the knife![]
“Ah! Nicholas, have you lost your mind?” She screamed and struggled as blood splattered the walls.]
“You bitch! You and that bastard conspired to deceive me!“]
Nicholas wildly swung the knife, slashing Vanessa’s belly open. “What golden grandson? It’s nothing but a bastard!“]]
Vanessa collapsed on the floor, clutching her bleeding abdomen, her face pale: “Help… help me. The baby…]]
Just then, Marianne rushed in after hearing the commotion. Seeing the blood everywhere, she screamed and lunged forward: “Nicholas? What are you doing?! This is the Hampton heir!“}
“Heir?” Nicholas laughed maniacally. “Mom, how long are you going to keep lying to me?!“[]
He grabbed Marianne’s hair and pressed the knife to her throat. “The bastard you had with that driver made me a laughingstock for thirty years!”
“No, no, it’s not…” Marianne trembled all over. Before she could finish, Nicholas plunged the knife into her chest!
“Go reunite with your lover in hell![]
Marianne’s eyes widened as she slowly fell into the pool of blood.]
Covered in blood. Nicholas stumbled through the streets carrying the knife.]
Pedestrians fled in terror, someone called the police, and sirens wailed closer and doser.]
“Haha, everyone lied to me, everyone was lying.” He laughed deliriously as he walked toward the river]
Chapter 11
I remembered clearly–my husband had azoospermia, and the most authoritative foreign specialists had concluded he could never father children.]
“I’m not a Hampton, I’m nothing.”
He stepped into thin air and fell into the rushing river.]
The police searched for three days and only found his waterlogged corpse.
A month later, I pushed a wheelchair, bringing the paralyzed George to the Hampton family cemetery.[]
He sat there with his mouth askew, drooling, speaking incoherently. “Ret…retribution!“[]
I looked at the three fresh graves before me–Nicholas, Marianne, and Vanessa.
“Dad, you’re all that’s left of the Hampton family,” I said softly. “Don’t worry, I’ll take good ‘care‘ of you.“]]
The old man in the wheelchair trembled all over, his cloudy eyes filled with terror.[]
