Chapter 17
The Third–person perspective]
“How could it be her?” Another person objected with a disdainful tone, “If she truly had the ability, she would have used her body to seduce Ian. Comparing that woman to the professional dancers is an insult to the dancers.“[]
Ian coldly looked up, only seeing the back of a slender and alluring woman.[]
She seemed to bear some resemblance to Sherry.
But that woman was completely devoted to tricks and lies, using them to protect her position as Kemnis’s lady of the house. How could she perform such a provocative dance?]
Ian couldn’t help but recall her behavior when they met at the restaurant. He stood up and walked to the side, making a call home. “Does Madam at home?“[]
“She… hasn’t returned since morning,” the servant on the other end of the line said.[]
Hearing this, Ian’s face turned cold.
But in the next moment; he smirked.[]
Did she think that with these tricks, he would become interested in her?]
He knew in his heart that what had happened in the kindergarten a few days ago was indeed Casey’s fault. Over the years, relying on his indulgence, she had become far too spoiled. Because of the death of his good friend Victor, he had wanted to take more care of this poor mother and son, but that had made her start to act lawlessly and even bully Iris.
Ian was a bit irritable. He had already warned Casey and Tyler not to let anything similar happen again.[]
He couldn’t understand why Sherry was so angry. Casey had told her personally that Tyler had just given Iris a light push, yet she had made a huge fuss about it.[]
Those parents did tear up the painting she had just bought, but he had given Sherry enough money to buy tens of thousands of such paintings. She could just buy a few more.

Was it really necessary to bring up divorce just because of these trifles? She was just trying to manipulate him.[]
Her trick, he would only fall for it once!]]
Ian silently walked into a private room.[]
His friends stood nearby, “Ian, you shouldn’t have had any involvement with someone like Sherry in the first place. Just pay her off and make her disappear! Look, she claimed it was an accident, not requiring any responsibility, but when she went out, she told the reporters that you and she were engaged and about to get married. She has the audacity to this extent, even TV dramas wouldn’t dare to perform like this!“[]
These words stirred up pain in Ian’s heart, his brows furrowed, his face becoming frightening.]
“Stop saying that.” The person across interrupted, “When that incident happened, Ian, as a man, shouldn’t have reacted excessively. The relationship happened by accident, but paying her off would be demeaning, wouldn’t it?“]
“Ask lan if that was an accident. Sherry orchestrated the whole incident“]
“Even if she orchestrated it, without what happened afterward…“]
That person only spoke half a sentence, then suddenly fell silent, unnaturally glancing at Ian.[]
Ian took a sip of wine, his face becoming gloomy even though he didn’t interfere in the conversation. The atmosphere turned uncomfortable as well.[]
His friends patted him on the back, “Ian, after four years of being married to her, you probably don’t even care about how she looks. Just dump her, wasting your youth on such a terrible woman is not worth it.“]
“If it weren’t for you, only old and poor men would accept her. She only deserves someone like that!“]
Sherry’s Perspective]
Chapter 17
Soon after, I heard mocking laughter coming f
Outside the door, Fredrica’s eyes turned red, clenching her those words.

I firmly pulled him out. “Why are you stopping me? I can’t swallow this anger with those self–righteous people treating her like that!” Fredrica shouted as I was dragged outside.
I patted Fredrica’s shoulder, being more composed as someone directly involved. “We’re divorced now, they can say whatever they want.“[]
Before the divorce, I always tried to defend myself, wanting to change the impression in Ian and his friends‘ hearts.
But it was ineffective.
At that time, it was for the sake of family harmony, but now that there was no longer

Fredrica was still angry. “After enduring humiliation for so many years because of him, he still doesn’t believe you and can’t even remember your face, thinking you only deserve old and poor men. Damn it, we’ll make them open their eyes wide and see how exceptional you are and who truly deserves you!“]
I treated those words as angry outbursts, not paying too much attention to them. I consoled Fredrica for a few words and then left.[]
The next day, because there were still important things to retrieve from the Kemnis household, I went to his house.
I didn’t enter, just called the servants, requesting their assistance to bring my belongings out.
Shortly after the call, a car arrived. [
The car stopped in front of me, and Ian stepped out with a cold expression. [
His gaze passed over me impatiently. After a night of chaos caused by me, seeing that he didn’t respond, it was natural for me to obediently return.[]
“You’ve caused enough trouble, so come inside!” Ian ordered coldly without any politeness.[]
I widened my eyes in surprise, understanding clearly now.
He thought I couldn’t let go of him.[]
I smiled gently and reminded him, “Ian, it seems your memory is faulty. We signed the divorce papers yesterday.”
Ian’s eyebrows furrowed with an unhappy expression. “You mustn’t take advantage. If it comes down to it and you find yourself caught between a rock and a hard place, the one who will be left embarrassed is you!”
Advantage?
His words were laced with sharp and forceful undertones, how could I possibly take advantage of such a situation?]
I was about to speak when suddenly a strange sound reached my ears.
I couldn’t help but turn my head and saw a giant banner with the words: Congratulations Sherry for escaping hell, successful divorce![]
Besides the banner, there were also a few small advertising boards with the words: Sherry, divorce happily!
