Chapter 17
The phone suddenly fell from Peter’s hand..
He suddenly widened his eyes.
“Can we joke about this? Did Josephine tell you to say that? Where is she? Take me to find her quickly!”
“I really want to see how she managed to bribe you. How could you lie to cover for her?”
The assistant did not move, but instead handed the investigation materials to Peter.
“Mr. Garrison, this is Ms. Sinclair’s medical record. She was diagnosed. with liver cancer over a month ago.
Peter suddenly shuddered, his body unsteady and almost falling down.
That was the 99th time he had cheated on her in front of her.
That day, he looked at her mockingly.
He made his girlfriend put on her pajamas and maliciously mocked her.
“How about that? Does she look better in it than you?”
“Josephine, if I’m not mistaken, this is already the ninety–ninth time, right? After all this, you still won’t agree to a divorce?”
Memory is like pages scattered by the wind.

I quickly flashed back to that day.
No wonder her complexion looked so bad!
No wonder she was getting thinner and paler day by day.
He also made fun of her and humiliated her.
Peter’s heartache was so intense that he found it difficult to breathe.
He didn’t expect to feel so devastated when he heard that Josephine had died.
How could this happen? Wasn’t he supposed to be happy?
His fist clenched tighter and tighter.
Just as the assistant was about to say something else, he suddenly pushed him away and rushed outside.
He arrived at Tania’s house downstairs.
His intuition told him that Tania definitely knew something!
How could Josephine have died? How is it possible that she died?
He knew it, Tania was a nurse, she must have helped Josephine forge the medical records!
Josephine just wanted to see him embarrassed, to see him make a fool of himself!
He crazily banged on Tania’s door.
Not long after, the door slowly opened.
Compared to his anger and impatience, Tania appeared particularly calm.

He stepped forward and grabbed her collar.
“You tell me! Where is Josephine? Where on earth is she? Did you hide. her? What kind of game are you playing? How could Josephine be dead?”
“How could she have died?”
Tania remained calm.
She calmly pushed away Peter’s hand.
He turned around calmly and took the third letter.
Upon seeing this, Peter snatched the letter and tore it to pieces before. throwing it on the ground.
“Enough! I just need one thing from you, Josephine, is she… is she sick!”
Tania looked at him and didn’t even dare to say the word “die“.
Suddenly felt a bit ridiculous.
“No.”
Upon hearing the words, Peter instantly shifted his gaze towards her, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Immediately after, Tania’s words seemed to plunge him into a deep abyss.
“It’s not that he’s sick, he’s already dead.”
“She’s dead, do you understand? Josephine, she’s already dead!”
Her slender fingers slowly pointed to the fragments on the ground.
The latter looked at Peter mockingly.
“Don’t you want to take a look? That’s the last message she left for you.”

Peter’s eyes followed the direction of her finger.
The scraps
of paper in that area were blown by the gentle wind, and the writing on them could still be faintly seen.
Peter took two steps back.
“It’s impossible… this can’t be true…”
“Someone like Josephine, stronger than weeds, how could she possibly die?”
Tania’s eye sockets were red as if they were bleeding, and she clenched her fists tightly.
I bent down to pick up the pieces of paper torn into shreds by Peter.
She walked up to Peter in silence.
Stuff them all into his hands.
“Take a good look, this time it’s for real.”
After saying that, she turned around and left.
Dazed Peter focused his gaze on the crumpled piece of paper in his hand.
As a result, he didn’t really listen carefully to what Tania was saying.
Is this for real this time?
When was there a time that wasn’t real?
