Chapter 8
“Of course he’s mine! Luna Lily, how could you even say that?”
Megan’s voice rose in panie, arms tightening protectively around the baby like she feared someone might snatch him away.
But her reaction was too Intense too rehearsed. It only made her look more guilty.
Alpha Rig, the former Alpha of the Bluemoon Pack and Megan’s father–in–law, looked at her coldly. His voice was calm but chilling, “We’ll test the blood tomorrow,”
Megan’s face went deathly pale, her knees buckling slightly.
At that moment, Landon, who had been silent all this time, finally stepped forward. His face was a mix of emotions, brows deeply furrowed. It was clear he had only just realized how serious things really were.
He looked at me and spoke in a low voice. “Lauren… I didn’t know it was like this.”
I let out a short, bitter laugh.
He seemed flustered and quickly added, “I always thought you were the one trying to outshine Megan. That our parents were blased toward you, and I felt bad for her… I didn’t know it was like this.”
He sounded remorseful, but to me, it was just noise.
Was he truly regretting what he’d done or had his attitude changed only after realizing I might be the Alpha King’s daughter?
I didn’t know. And I didn’t care,
All I knew was that he had betrayed me and he would have to pay the price.
I met his eyes and said coldly, “Landon, you made your choice. Now you live with it.”
His lips trembled slightly, like he wanted to say more.
But I had no intention of listening.
I turned around and walked away without a backward glance.
As expected, the truth came out soon after.
I was the daughter of the Alpha King and Luna Queen.
When my biological parents learned the truth, they were overwhelmed–stunned, heartbroken, and overjoyed all at once.
They had never stopped searching for me all these years, but they never imagined I’d been stuck in some minor pack, neglected and mistreated.
They showered me with love, desperate to make up for the twenty–some years we’d lost. But I only gave a faint smile.
I never blamed them. They weren’t the ones who failed me.
The ones truly at fault were the people who raised me.
But I was no longer a child.
I didn’t want their palace. I didn’t need their crown.
I’d build my own kingdom.
They were pained by my resolve, but they understood. In the end, they respected my decision and gave me their full
Without me, Landon’s pack quickly started falling apart.
A series of poor decisions led to multiple attacks by rogue wolves.
Worse? I wasn’t just absent–I was his greatest competitor.
support.
My true family was powerful and wealthy. Though my parents respected my independence, when they learned what Landon had done, they didn’t besitate to turn him away.
The only thing they offered was asylum–for the innocent members of his pack.
He sought help everywhere, only to realize he had become a joke among the other packs.

He wasn’t an Alpha anymore–just a fool who lost everything.
Without me, he was nothing more than a mediocre leader. Not even worthy of a comeback.
And as for Megan–of course the child wasn’t hers.
No one knew where she’d gotten him. She thought she could pass him off as her own and get away with it.
But the DNA test told the truth.
Luna Lily wasted no time. She kicked Megan and the child out of the Bluemoon Pack.
The once–proud Megan was left with absolutely nothing.
She stumbled home, her eyes red, her expression unhinged. The moment she burst through the door, she cried out, “Mom! Dad! You have to help me!”
But the only thing that greeted her was a cold, suffocating silence.
Her parents were seated in the living room, faces grim.
The once–luxurious space now looked strangely desolate.
Her father puffed on a cigarette, the air around him heavy with smoke. Her mother looked worn and furious, her face older and more tired than ever
before.
Sensing something was wrong, Megan rushed forward in desperation. “Mom, Dad, you have to help me! The Bluemoon Pack kicked me out. I have nowhere to go! You have to do something!”
Amanda snapped her head up, her eyes blazing with frustration. “Help you? We can barely help ourselves! And you’ve still got the nerve to come crawling
back?!”
Megan froze, her expression stiffening. “…What?”
Ryan crushed his cigarette in the ashtray, his voice icy. “You thought you were clever. You thought you could outplay Lauren. And look where that got
us.”
“You didn’t just lose. You’ve ruined everything.”
