After Isabella fell asleep, I called and told my parents that I would divorce
Antonio.

Chapter 5
My parents were open–minded and supported all my decisions. I was grateful for that.
They didn’t even ask why I wanted to divorce.
At night, I went back to the villa by taxi.
First, I went to Isabella’s room and packed her favorite dolls and some necessary things. Next, I packed my IDs and jewelry.
I ordered a delivery service and sent them to my parents‘ place.
Then, I put the clothes Isabella couldn’t wear in a big garbage bag along with gifts from Antonio, including the towel he knitted, the letters he wrote, the photos of us, the birthday gifts and anniversary gifts from him, and maybe the wedding ring on my finger.
But I hesitated when I looked at the ring. It should be the last to throw away in case Antonio got suspicious.
I tied the ends of the garbage bag and dragged it to the dustbin.
However, I ran into Antonio on the way there.
He looked at the garbage bag and then at me. “What’s in it?”
I stayed calm. “Bella’s clothes. They are too short. I’ll buy her some new
ones.”
A
As expected, he didn’t suspect it.

He said, “I see” and took the garbage bag over. “It seems heavy. Let me throw it away.”
I gave no objection and saw him do it.
I wondered how he would look if he knew that he had thrown everything that symbolized what he had done for me.
Too bad that I couldn’t see it.
He walked back and wanted to hold me, but I shifted away without him. noticing it.
“Are you done in the company?”
Antonio paused and said while avoiding eye contact with me, “For now.”
Then, he took off his coat and gave me an apologetic look. “I’m sorry that I haven’t been there for you and Bella lately. I’ll make it up to you when the project in hand is over.
“I remember Bella said she wanted to go on vacation in Bali. Why don’t we go there then?”
Isabella said that 3 months ago. Because Antonio stood her up several times, she didn’t want to go there already.
I nodded, not stopping Antonio from playing the good father and husband.
I could tell he felt relieved. He unbuttoned his shirt and got into our bedroom.
I watched him for seconds. He got some clean clothes and headed to the bathroom, so I knew he didn’t notice that some things were missing.

That was because he didn’t care.
I pulled a self–mocking smile and took some papers out of my purse. Before he got into the bathroom, I passed the papers to him. “Sign it here.”
I showed him the last page. He paused before asking, “What is it?”
I stopped his hand. “Bella’s insurance contract.”
He was cautious about signing contracts, so he wanted to turn ahead.
Right then, his phone rang.
The screen flashed by me, but I still saw the name, which was Natalie.
Antonio signed the papers and gave them back to me. Then, he said, “It’s from the company” and rushed to the balcony.
I felt I was stupid while watching his back.
Then, I turned to the first page. The words “Divorce Agreement” were on the cover.
