Chapter 11
Three people entered the room.
Laurel immediately slumped onto the couch, having been on the road for several days straight, her body clearly reaching its limit.
“Why don’t you go upstairs and take a nap? I’ll call you when dinner is ready,” Grace looked at her best friend, who was lying lifelessly on the couch, and felt a warm feeling in her heart.
“Okay, I really can’t hold on any longer. Let me know when you’re done, I’m going to sleep.” With that, he went upstairs.
Isabella stood on the side and chuckled, “I have never seen Auntie in such a disheveled state.”
Grace smiled and gently touched Isabella’s head, asking her to do her homework while she went to the kitchen to cook.
Dinner time, the three of them were talking and laughing, the atmosphere was so joyful
After eating, Isabella was put to sleep.
Two people, one holding a bottle of wine, began to toast each other.
After three rounds of drinking, the two of them hugged each other and cried like pear blossoms in the rain.
“I was so happy, Grace. It’s been a long time since I had your cooking. Ever since we graduated, you’ve been completely focused on your family, not even coming to gatherings. I rarely see you when I invite you to go

out. You used to say that even if you got married, you would still prioritize me.”
Laurel was hitting her while speaking.
Grace let herself be hammered: “Yes, I loved someone so much that I not only lost you all, but also lost myself. Now, I have received this outcome as a punishment from God.”
“No way, Grace is so good, it’s just that the heavens made you see clearly that man is not worth it.”
Laurel became increasingly angry as she spoke, “That dog of a man, dare to cheat on me. If I ever see him again, I will definitely give him a good beating.”
He fell into Grace’s arms, talking and gesticulating excitedly.
“Alright, goodbye. Let’s beat him up together.”
Grace changed Laurel’s position to make her lie more comfortably.
“Grace, I really liked you now, just as lively as the first time I saw you,” Laurel said, raising her hand and pinching her face.
Over the years, every time I saw you, I would get really angry. Seeing you becoming more and more haggard each time broke my heart. That’s why I would always argue with you whenever we met, to the point where it pushed us further and further apart.
Grace gently patted the person in her arms and said, “I was completely wrong, and I apologize to you. I won’t do it again in the future.”
“I don’t want you to apologize to me, I want you to live forever as free and bright as you are now…” Her voice grew quieter as she spoke, until it became a murmured soliloquy, and her hands slipped from her lap.
Chapter 11
Grace looked down and the person in her arms was clearly already asleep.
So I carried the person back to the bedroom.
A good night’s sleep.
The next day, the first ray of sunlight in the early morning shone into the bedroom. Because the two of them had drunk too much last night and forgot to pull the curtains, the sunlight stung Grace’s eyes, making it impossible for her to open them.
Looking down, it turned out that it had snowed. The sunlight reflected off the snow surface was even more dazzling, no wonder it was a bit difficult to keep my eyes open.
Glancing at the time, it was only 8 o’clock, and it was the weekend today. Grace should have taken the opportunity to sleep in, but her long-
established biological clock prevented her from falling asleep even when she lay down.
So I simply got up and started preparing breakfast.
I went downstairs and saw the whole room in a mess, which reminded me that the two of us had drunk a lot of alcohol yesterday.
Thinking about not letting his daughter see these scenes, he quickly cleaned up the wine bottles and went out to throw away the trash.
As soon as the door was opened, a figure stood still at the doorway.
Grace was startled and turned to leave.
Antonio grabbed her hand, and Grace only then realized that those hands. were chillingly cold.
Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that Antonio was on the verge

of freezing.
