**Chapter 19**
Telepathic connection?
Julian immediately said, “Bring her in!”
Soon, Chloe was dragged in, leaving a long trail of blood on the floor,
Her face was ruined and festering, completely unrecognizable from her former appearance.
Her hands were also pierced, limp and bent at an odd angle,
She lay on the ground, struggling to lift her head, “Y–you can’t kill me, Sister… Sister isn’t dead.”
Julian demanded sharply, “You can sense your sister? Is she really still alive?”
Chice laughed manically. “She’s definitely still alive, but Julian, you’ll never find her in this lifetime. Ha ha ha ha…”

Max said,
“Mr.
Fuentes, her mind might be gone. What she says might not be reliable.”
A twin’s telepathic connection, after all, was a very vague thing.
Science couldn’t prove it, and he couldn’t verify whether Chloe’s words were true or false.
Just then, a man in black suddenly entered from outside to relay a message. “Mr. Fuentes, a villager–looking man has suddenly arrived outside, saying he has something to return to Miss Riley.”

said, “Let him in!”
An old villager, around fifty years old, was brought in.
Seeing the bloodstains in the yard, he was a little frightened. “Excuse me, is this Miss Riley Miller’s house?”
Julian nodded. “Yes, I am
Riley’s husband.”
The old man took out a woman’s watch from his pocket and said, “That day, before Miss Riley left, she gave me this watch, saying it was ch and not worth much, but she was very grateful that I helped her make a phone call. But I kept thinking, she’s just a girl, and she was so severe injured. Treating her injuries must cost a lot of money, right? I just helped her casually; I can’t take her gift…”
Upon hearing this, Julian suddenly stood up. “What did you say? You mean… she wasn’t eaten by wild wolves that night? She left?”
The old man nodded blankly. “Yes, that day it rained heavily. She was badly injured, barely clinging to life. I was worried my crops would be washed away by the heavy rain, so I came out to check and unexpectedly found her. She asked me to call her friend, and her friend came and rescued her…”
“Friend?” Max said, “Miss Riley doesn’t seem to have many friends…”
Julian, however, spoke a name. “Harper.”
He had read all of Riley’s records from childhood.
Due to her parents‘ differential treatment and her sister’s deliberate cruelty, her personality was very introverted, and she had almost no social life.
Harper was her only friend.
And Riley’s only person to turn to for help!
“Max, investigate! Harper’s movements that night!”
“Yes, sir!”
With a lead, Max quickly found some surveillance footage.
He brought the footage back.

The surveillance showed that on that night, Harper drove through the heavy rain towards the village, but because many rural areas didn’t have surveillance cameras, her car’s movement was lost once it entered the desolate area.
However, half an hour later, her car reappeared on surveillance, stopping midway at a pharmacy.
Harper went into the pharmacy and bought many medications.
After that, her car sped all the way to the airport.
Max said, “Mr. Fuentes, I’ve checked. Harper bought external wound treatment medications, bandages, anti–inflammatory drugs, and fever reducers at the pharmacy. Additionally, the airport confirmed that there was a flight to Nigeria that night, and Miss Riley’s name was on the manifest.”
