Chapter 10
“You’re lying!” Clarissa snapped, eyes blazing. “Gabriel was the biggest shareholder in the Marcy Group. He owned over a dozen properties and luxury cars–there’s no way he had no money! You stole it, didn’t you?!”
I stared straight into her bloodshot eyes and let out a cold laugh. “Clarissa, maybe you didn’t know–five years ago, before going to prison, Gabriel transferred everything to me. Shares, houses, cars, savings, real estate–all of it. It was his way of trying to keep me.”
“What did you say?”
“You stayed with him for years and gave him kids. So what? In his heart, you were never more than a mistress he was ashamed of. He never gave you a title. Not even a cent. Doesn’t that just make you pathetic?”
“No… No! You’re lying! I don’t believe you!”
Her face twisted into something monstrous, teeth clenched tight. “It was you! You stole my children’s inheritance, you bitch! I’m going to kill you!”
She lunged, pulling a fruit knife from her coat and stabbing at me with all her fury.
I dodged.
Right then, the police burst in and pinned her to the ground.
She was sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder.
Six months later, she dropped dead in her cell–her body too diseased to fight anymore.
Her twin kids, with no one left to take them, were sent to an orphanage.
Chapter 10
Gabriel never woke up. Eventually, the doctors declared him brain–dead. With the hospital’s approval, I personally pulled the plug.
After everything, I went to visit Nicho’s grave.
I placed his favorite snacks and toys in front of his grave.
The revenge was done. Maybe now, he could finally rest.
