Chapter 1
I was a poor orphan girl, yet I married the scion of Los Angeles’s elite, Philip Gorman.
He was cursed: within three years, his family would fall, his fortune would crumble.
And I was the one chosen to be his wife.
After the wedding, I helped Philip break the curse. His company’s profits doubled.
But he thought I forced his beloved crush away and tricked him into marrying me. He called me manipulative, even poisonous.
When I got pregnant, he spent 99 nights in our bedroom, intimate with his beloved crush.
To please her, Philip had me buried alive, eight months pregnant.
I knelt and begged for mercy. But he sneered.
“You married into the Gorman family and made me lose the love of my life. Stay in that grave. When you die, you’ll finally break the curse for me.”
And so, I was buried alive. Two lives gone.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day his grandfather, Andrew Gorman, chose me.
They didn’t know–I was the most powerful folk healer in all of Los Angeles.
Chapter 1
This time, I’ll be the one to destroy the Gorman family.

After rebirth, I saw Andrew bring people to my house again, asking for my birth date and time.
I denied I could break the curse.
“Sir Gorman, you’re joking. I’m just a poor orphan. I don’t deserve your family.”
But Andrew didn’t believe me. His cloudy eyes studied me carefully.
“They say you can break the curse. Marry my grandson, and you’ll never suffer in the future.”
Everyone thought I’d agree right away as they ruled Los Angeles’s elite, with power that reached everywhere.
After all, marrying into the Gorman family was a once–in–a–lifetime
chance.
But only I knew–no matter how powerful the Gorman family was, I didn’t
care.
In my previous life, Andrew barged into my home just like this.
When he asked if I was willing to marry into the Gorman family, I said yes without hesitation.
Because Philip once saved me from thugs. I had secretly loved him for years. I was willing to take the curse for him.
But I never expected that three years of devotion would end with me buried alive, pregnant.
This time, as Andrew begged, I spoke first.
Chapter 1
“Sir Gorman, even if I don’t marry him, I can still break the curse.”
Andrew was domineering. Even after my refusal, he still wanted to force me with power.
I had no choice but to reveal my identity–the top folk healer in Los Angeles.
I pointed out several problems in the Gorman family’s ancestral grave and offered to fix them.
I also proposed to move into the Gorman’s residence to handle the curse.
Andrew was overjoyed.
That night, he brought me into the Gorman’s residence.
As soon as I arrived, Philip blocked me in my room, his face full of anger.
“Tahlia Tessier, how cheap can you get? You dare claim you can break the curse just to force me to marry you?
“Don’t think fooling my grandpa means you’ll become my wife!
“I’m not cursed. Even without you, I’d still make the Gorman family’s business thrive.
“Don’t even think about stealing the title of Mrs. Gorman!”
I slowly looked up at him. His eyes were full of disgust.
I said calmly, “You’ve got it wrong. I’m not here to marry you.”
Philip sneered. “Still pretending, huh?”
He called for the servants, trying to throw me out along with my luggage.
Just then, Andrew arrived. “Stop!”
He scolded Philip fiercely. “Ms. Tessier is my guest. I dare anyone to touch her!”
Philip was furious. “Grandpa, the one I love is Kate! I’d rather die than marry her!”
Andrew frowned. “Ms. Tessier said she can break the curse. No marriage needed.”
Philip didn’t believe a word.
He stared at me, sneering. “Playing hard to get? Disgusting.
“In the previous life, you were nothing but my pathetic lapdog.
“Now, stay away from me. Kate doesn’t like me touching other women.”
Before I could respond, his phone rang.
As he answered, his voice softened instantly.
“What’s wrong, Kate? Not feeling well? I’ll be right there!”
As he left, I quietly plucked a strand of hair from his shoulder.
“Philip, you chose this path. Don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
