Chapter 7
Philip felt lightheaded, and his assistant’s panicked shouting was the only thing he noticed.
But the wedding hall was way too loud, and he couldn’t make out anything clearly.
Instead, what caught his eye was Tahlia walking away in a wedding gown, her figure growing smaller and smaller…
“Tahlia…”
Right after he called out her name everything went black, and he passed
out.
When he opened his eyes again, he heard the loud and worried voices of his assistant and grandfather outside.
“Sir Gorman, we’re in serious trouble. The major shareholders are all threatening to pull out. If we don’t fix this in the next three days, I’m afraid…
“We might lose everything and go bankrupt!
“And that’s not all. The doctor also said Mr. Gorman’s been drinking and having sleepless nights for years. He’s been diagnosed with late–stage stomach cancer!”
Andrew was so shocked that he nearly lost his balance and almost hit the ground.
“Hurry, get Tahlia here right away!”
Then he added harshly, “If she doesn’t agree to come, drag her here even

if we have to force her!”
He was filled with regret.
Why had he let Philip marry Kate? If only he had made sure his grandson. ended up with Tahlia, maybe none of this would’ve happened.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got until his blood pressure spiked.
His body went stiff, and he collapsed backward.
The assistant turned pale and yelled, “Sir Gorman, are you okay?!”
Philip, shocked and hurting, forced himself to get up.
“Grandpa…
“What’s wrong, Grandpa?”
Doctors rushed into the room and immediately started trying to save him.
Five minutes later, one of them looked at Philip and said with a heavy heart, “Sir Gorman has no vital signs. We’re sorry for your loss.”
Philip’s face lost all its color. “This can’t be real.
“How could my grandpa die so suddenly? He had just been in the room, talking to me like normal!”
Philip was filled with grief. He dropped to his knees, tears falling uncontrollably.
Kate stood quietly nearby, wiping away her own tears.
“Philip… your grandpa passed so unexpectedly, and now the company’s in serious danger. What if…
“What if the entire family falls apart?”
She, too, was full of regret.
She had worked so hard to marry into the Gorman family, dreaming of living a rich and comfortable life..
But who could have guessed that only a day after their wedding, the Gorman family would be facing financial ruin?
Kate’s cries made Philip feel irritated.
He sat there, completely lost in thought, when a memory from his past life suddenly came back. Back then, right after he got married, the Gorman Group was also nearly bankrupt.
But Tahlia never once complained.
Instead, she squeezed his hand and told him, calm but strong, “Philip, don’t worry. As long as I’m with you, we’ll get through everything.”
Back then, though, he pushed her hand aside, mocking her with cold
sarcasm.
Thinking about it now, Philip was full of regret.
Maybe the doctor told him he had late–stage stomach cancer and didn’t have much time left. Right then, memories of Tahlia’s kindness surged through his mind.
“What did I even do in the past?”
