Chapter 8
A single announcement caused an uproar in the hall.
“Mr. Fitzroy from Slivershade? He’s the heir to the Fitzroy family–the most powerful family in all of Slivershade!”
“That’s not all. He’s also one of Stivershade’s most influential tycoons!”
“I heard in Slivershade, he treats everyone like din. Cross him once and you’ll wish you were never born!
“My God, Mr. Carter really lives up to his title as the wealthiest man in our city. Even someone like Mr. Fitzroy traveled all the way here just to bring him
“Mr. Carter, you’ve been too low–key. You’ve already made connections with Slivershado’s top family and never even showed it.”
“Mr. Carter, we hope you’ll look after us in the future. Let’s make money together!”
For a while, everyone at the party–socialites and elites alike–turned their eyes on Dominic with envy and admiration.
Some even lowered themselves, trying to flatter Dominic in hopes he would introduce them to Mr. Fitzroy.
When Beatrice heard that Mr. Fitzroy had come in person to deliver a gift to Dominic, she clung to his arm like she had struck gold.
The look she gave Dominic was filled with adoration and admiration
The Carter family members all raised their chins proudly, their faces glowing with pride.
Only Dominic seemed confused. He fraze for a moment, clearly baffled
Then, basking in everyone’s attention and flattery, he sneered at me with smug disdain.
“See that?” he said.
“Even the heir to the most powerful family in Stivershade came to give me a gift.
“That’s the kind of power I hold.”
“Why do you think that someone like me, who is beyond your reach, would regret leaving you?”
He looked at me with a self–satisfied grin, his eyes glinting with smag triumph.
But to me, he looked no different from a clown.
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Patrick finally arrived.
He wore a tailored, casual suit. A few bodyguards followed close behind. He looked nonchalant, almost careless, but his presence was overpowering.
The moment he stepped into the banquet hall, the entire room fell silent.
The very same nobles and elites who had been arrogant just moments ago now looked at him with eager, flattering smiles, each one hoping to catch his
Domine quickly let go of Beatrice’s hand and adjusted his collar.
Then he walked over to Patrick with a sycophantic smile plastered on his face.
“Mr. Fitzroy, it’s an honor to have you grace the Carter Group with your presence!” he pushed.
Patrick grinned lazily at him and said in a relaxed tone, “I heard someone say you’re the richest man around here. Is that true?”
Pleased that his reputation had reached Patrick’s ears, Dominic loosened his tie and replied proudly, “I wouldn’t say I’m the richest, but in Hello City, people do show me some respect.”
Then he gave Patrick a flattering look and added,
*If you ever run into any trouble here, just say the word. I’ll take care of it for you.”
Tetrick nodded slightly, his tone growing cool.
“Actually, I have run into a bit of trouble.”
“Linvested in a club on the west side of Helio
“I was hoping to have a place to relax when I came to visit.”

“But recently, someone smashed it up.”
At those words, Dominic stiffened. He straightened his back and quickly said, “Who would dare destroy your place, Mr. Fitzroy? I’ll find them and make them pay right now!”
Others at the party chimed in
“That’s right! Anyone who dares to cross Mr. Fitzroy must have a death wish!”
“Mr. Fitzroy, say the word–we’re all at your service!”
Patrick lazily dog at his ear and said slowly, “It was someone named Ethan.”
Then he placed a hand on Dominic’s shoulder, his voice turning a shade darker.
“And I heard… he’s your most trusted man.”
Dominic’s face turned ghostly pale.
He swallowed hard and stammered,
“A–ah… I.. I don’t know anything about that.”
“Please don’t take offense, Mr. Fitzroy. There must be some kind of misunderstanding. My people probably didn’t know the place belonged to you.”
Jut they had, they wouldn’t have dated go near it, let alone touch it!”
Dominic was visibly shalding, his voice trembling with fear.
Patrick gave him a faint smile and said tightly, “No need to be so nervous.”
“Today is your company’s 30th anniversary, isn’t it? I came to bring you a gift. Did you forget?”
Seeing no anger on Patrick’s
‘s face, Dominic finally let out a long sigh of relief.
“Thank you, Mr. Fitzroy. It’s truly an honor that you made a special trip to celebrate with me.”
Patrick gave a small chucide but said nothing.
The next moment, he waved his hand.
A bodyguard stepped forward, carrying a large box,
Under everyone’s gaze, the box was slowly opened.
Inside–was Ethan’s severed head.
