Faked Wife 8

Faked Wife 8

Chapter

Savannah went home alone

She quietly cleaned the wound on her forehead, then began to pack

The necklace Grayson had given her, the rings, the hmary watch, the handwritten cards, the photo albums they took togethereverything related to him, she stuffed into boxes. One trip after another, she carried them down and dumped them into the trash bin outside the building

By the time the last box hit the bottom of the dumpster, wind swept through the dark street, blowing snowflakes against her face

She stood beneath the streetlight and suddenly found it laughable

What was once a treasure trove of memories was now nothing more than garbage

Just as she turned away

A burlap sack slammed down over her head

Before she could scream, pain exploded in the back of her neck

Then everything wont black

When Savannah woke up, she was still inside the sack. Her hands had been tied behind her back, and a strip of cloth was jammed in her mouth

Through the course weave of the sack, she saw Grayson sitting on a highbacked leather sofa, Claire curled up in his lap. The room was surrounded by men in black suitsfils personal security

One of them stepped forward and reported respectfully, Sir

I, we’ve got him. This is the thug Miss Savannah hired to attack Miss Claire.”

Claire trembled in Grayson’s arms, voice timid and soft: Graysonmaybe let it go.. You got there in time, I wasn’t really hurt”

Grayson gave a cold laugh. No.”

His long fingers brushed gently across her cheeks, voice achingly soft I couldn’t bear to lay a finger on Savannah. But if she dares hurt you, I need to ge

you an answer

”

She sent this man after you? Fine. I’ll make an example of himso she never dares try again.”

Savannah froze

In that moment, everything clicked

Claire had staged it all

She faked the attack, bribed people to kidnap Savannah, then lied to Grayson, calming Savannah had hired the men. Just so Grayson would take revengea

Savannah struggled violently, trying to shout his name. But the gag in her mouth reduced her cries to muffled sobs

Claire gave a little sigh, as if reluctant: Just go easy on him, okay? He’s probably just following orders”

Grayson’s eyes turned frosty. Easy? No chance.”

*If he touched you, he’ll learn what real pain feels like

A moment later, Savannah was dragged up onto the platform

Below her was a deep swimming pool, the water black and glassy under the overhead lights

Bound in a sack, she was shoved off the edge. Icecold water slammed into her like a fist

The impact knocked the air out of her lungs. Water surged into her mouth, her nose. The weight of the soaked sack dragged her down. Her ribs screamed Her body curled instinctively

Help.. help

She couldn’t scream

The sack was too heavy. The ropes too tight. Her lungs burned, her brain screamed, her body thrashed

Then suddenly-

The ropes tightened

And she was yanked back to

to the surface

Water spewed from her mouth, tinged with blood. Before she could catch her breath-

She was shoved back under

Once

Twice

Three times

Again and again, she was drowned and revived, just to be drowned again

Every plunge into the pool was like being thrown into a pit of ice

Every yank back up bore another piece of her soul away

Eventually, the pain began to blur. She couldn’t see clearly. She couldn’t breathe right. Her heart was slowing. Her mind dimming

She didn’t know how many times she’d been dunked when Claire finally spoke again

That’s enough, Grayson. Please don’t torture her anymore”

But Grayson only chuckled darkly. We’re not done yet”

He took the iron rod banded to him by a guard and stopped in front of Savannah

You touch what’s mine there’s a price to pay.”

The first hit landed square on her back. Her whole body convulsed like a shrimp dropped into boiling water

Pain tore down her spine, lit every nerve on fire

She bit down hard on the cloth in her mouth, muffling the scream that still forced its way out

Again and again. No merry

Each blow fractured something inside herbone, breath, trust

Blood seeped from her lips. Her vision turned white, then red, then black

Ninetynine blows

Grayson delivered each one with his own hands

By the end, Savannah didn’t feel pain anymore. She didn’t feel anything at all

Her consciousness faded. Her body collapsed like a rag doll

Hlood pooled beneath her, warm and spreading, soaking her clothes and painting the marble floor red

Grayson lifted one polished boot and stomped down on her hand

Bones shattered. The sound echoed through the room. Her body twitched violently, but no scream came

Only then did Grayson seem satisfied. He turned, scooped Claire into his arms

Did it scare you?he asked gently, stroking her hair. It’s okay now. It’s over.”

He waved lazily at the guards. Toss him back.”

Then he left, holding Claire close, boots squelching through blood and water

Finally, the cloth slipped from Savannah’s mouth

With the last bit of strength she had left, she whispered his name, Grayson.”

The sound was barely a breath. But it took everything she had
