After I left, George and I didn’t speak for two weeks, but his social media activity skyrocketed. It was all subtle, flirtatious posts with Maya. One a day, like clockwork.
I liked every single one, my heart a placid lake. I even silently prayed for him–prayed that Liam would discover the truth soon.
I just didn’t expect that day to come so quickly.
“Liam, you’ve changed so much since you woke up from your illness. Do you really not want me and our daughter anymore? Look at Yoyo, look at how cute she is. Even if you don’t want me, can you really bear to let your daughter grow up without a father?”
I stopped in my tracks and hid in the stairwell to eavesdrop.
Liam stood by the window, his face dark.
“You know very well whose daughter Yoyo is.”
He looked at Maya, his voice cold. “I have given you enough dignity over the years. Leave on your own, or do I have to have someo- ne throw you out?”
Maya’s sobs stopped abruptly. “Wh–what? Liam, I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Is there some kind of misunderstand- ing?”

[He was drugged and set up. The brother thought they had slept together that night.]

[How could the female lead sleep with him? She was already pregnant with the male lead’s baby at the time. She was just putting
on a show.]
No wonder the text said Liam was still a virgin.
With the evidence laid bare, Maya had nothing more to say. She ran out, sobbing, and only then did I step into the room.
“Did you know all along that Yoyo wasn’t your biological daughter?”
Liam looked at me, then averted his gaze, his voice a low murmur. “I found out six months ago.”
I was confused. “Then why did you let Maya stay by your side?”
Liam looked at me deeply for a few seconds, then suddenly asked, “That suit you mentioned the other day… is it still possible to
have it altered in time?”
