George strode up to me, his face livid.
“Where were you all night?”
The memories of the previous night’s passion flooded my mind. My whole body still ached.
“At the office,” I said casually.
I had hoped to get rid of him quickly, but my answer only made him angrier.
He gritted his teeth. “I went to the office to find you at two in the morning. You weren’t there. Anna, were you out screwing around with someone else? Don’t forget, you’re still my fiancée!”
I had to laugh. I looked at him, amused, and repeated myself.
“George, we already broke up.”
He scoffed.
Without the filter of my affection, George was… average. Just another spoiled, rebellious rich kid. I honestly didn’t know where he got the audacity to look down on me all this time.
“Anna, what’s the point of playing hard to get? The engagement between the Kim and Parker families hasn’t been called off, has it? Didn’t you go to the designer to plan the wedding venue today?”
I frowned. It was true that those plans were moving forward.
Unfortunately for him, the groom had been replaced.
Just as I was about to speak, his phone rang.
Maya’s frantic voice came through the line. “George, Yoyo has a fever, you have to come over! Sob, sob, she’s been calling for her daddy all night, she waited up for you…”
George clenched his phone. “I’m on my way.”
After hanging up, he turned to leave. At the door, he looked back at me.
“Reinstate all the contracts we agreed on, and I’ll pretend this breakup never happened. Otherwise, if there’s no groom at the wedd- ing in two days, it’ll be the Kim family that loses face.”
The door slammed shut. I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Majam, please change the passcode on the door. And if George comes by again, just let the dogs out.”
Liam threw some money around.
The new wedding dress, suit, and decorations were all ready within two days.
‘On the day of the wedding, I sat in my dress, waiting for Liam to come and pick me up.
