Chapter 2
On the day of the wedding, I sat in my dress, waiting for Liam to come and pick me up.
George was still sending me threatening messages:
Apologize to me before ten o’clock, and I can forgive and forget.
I didn’t reply.
After ten, George was furious.

I gave you a chance and you didn’t take it. Don’t blame me for disrespecting the Parker family. You can have the wedding by yourse-
If.
I blocked him and waited quietly for Liam to arrive.
The procession of cars was accompanied by a trail of firecrackers.
With Liam there, no one dared to cause any trouble.
Amid the surprised murmurs of the guests, Liam took my hand and walked me down the aisle.
“They said it was a marriage with the Parker family. We thought it was George Parker, but it turns out it’s Liam.”
My parents just smiled and said it was all a misunderstanding, that Liam was the son–in–law they had approved of all along.
The ceremony began. Liam and I stood on the stage, hand in hand.
“Ms. Kim, do you take Mr. Parker to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
I smiled and nodded, but before I could answer, I saw George standing in the middle of the crowd, his eyes red. Everyone else was smiling and congratulating us. Only he looked like an enraged lion.
Noticing my gaze, Liam followed it. His eyes flickered over George, and then we both looked away.
“I do.”
With Liam there, George had to swallow his pride.
After the ceremony, we went around and toasted the guests.
Liam was different from George. He was mature, charismatic, and had taken the Parker Group to new heights in just five years. He was at ease in any social setting, unlike George, who would just hide in a corner, complaining that he didn’t like it and couldn’t be bothered.
(I suddenly feel like the brother is more of a male lead. He’s so handsome!]
[He and the SFL are definitely a better match. Two equally powerful people together is so satisfying to watch.]
[But I have to admit, the image of the male lead having a breakdown in the bathroom right now is kind of hilarious.]
A breakdown in the bathroom? I was confused. He should be happy that I was finally leaving him alone.
