“What the hell gives you the right to hit me?“]
The two slaps left Heyar stunned. She lost control, collapsing to the floor and screaming in panic.]
Isabella blew on her reddened palm and glanced at her casually.[]
“One slap was for when you hit me with your car last time. The other’s for everything else you’ve done. Got it?“[]
Lucius’s eyes immediately narrowed at this.[]
When he looked down at the woman on the floor, the emotion in his eyes made Heyar shiver.
There was no anger, no contempt–only the indifference one might show an ant.[]
In that moment, a chill ran through her, and for the first time, she truly felt how close death was.]
Just as she was nearing a complete breakdown, the butler emerged with Ronan, who had sobered up considerably.
He immediately spotted Isabella and stumbled toward her, trying to grab her hand.[]
But Lucius knocked his arm away.[]
Years of spoiled young master temperament made Ronan want to lash out in anger, but when he looked up and saw that familiar face, his irritation instantly transformed into fear.[]
“Uncle… Uncle.“[]
Lucius had never used his position to boss around a nephew who was barely younger than him.[]
But at this moment, he was in an extremely foul mood, so he showed no mercy, disciplining Ronan in front of the staff.]
“Ronan Moretti, bringing your drunken tantrums into my home? And bringing along a rabid dog that bites people. Such poor memory–have you forgotten what I told you about the Moretti family not supporting useless garbage?“]
The entire villa’s atmosphere plummeted to freezing point with those words.
Everyone held their breath, shrinking back to minimize their presence and avoid provoking the master’s wrath.[]

This was the first time she’d seen Lucius this angry.]
It was also the first time she’d seen the usually lawless Ronan completely subdued, and she couldn’t help but marvel.

Now that she had someone to back her up, she no longer needed to hold back, so she decided to speak plainly.
“Ronan, since from now on you’ll have to call me ‘Aunt,‘ let me be direct about something. I have no interest in getting involved in your torrid love story with Heyar. Whether you two break up or stay together has nothing to do with me, so please don’t appear in front of me again unless necessary.“[]
“Ronan, now that you’ll be calling me ‘Aunt,‘ let me be direct. I couldn’t care less about your messy love drama with Heyar. Whether you two break up or stay together isn’t my problem, so don’t show up in front of me unless it’s absolutely necessary.“[]
These few sentences made Ronan’s veins bulge with anger.[]
He was about to retort when he heard another voice that filled him with dread.[]

Seeing Ronan bow his head in submission, Lucius was also tired. He left them with one final statement before taking Isabella’s hand and returning to their room.
“If you understood, then why aren’t you leaving? Do I need to call your father to come collect you?”
Ronan didn’t dare linger a moment longer, dragging Heyar as they fled downstairs.[]
The villa returned to tranquility.
Isabella yawned and was about to lie back down when Lucius pulled her into his arms.
“What happened with the car accident? Is that when you got the injury on your forehead? Tell me about it.“[]
Isabella didn’t want him to worry, so she tried to brush it off.
“It’s nothing, it’s all in the past. Look, I’m perfectly healthy…”
Lucius picked up his phone to contact the hospital for a thorough examination while frowning and interrupting her.]
“If you were hurt, it’s a big thing.”
Hearing the worry and concern in his voice, Isabella felt her nose sting and tears threatening to fall again.]
But she held back the tears and told him everything that had happened during this period, down to the smallest detail.]
“After the engagement was arranged, I wanted to make things clear with Ronan…”
