Alpha’s Regret CH 170

Alpha’s Regret CH 170

I kept my eyes tightly closed, my body trembling slightly.

Ferris’s hand suddenly stopped. He obviously noticed that I wasn’t asleep at all, and didn’t continue further.

Cold sweat beaded on my forehead. Feeling him finally stop. I quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

The night grew deeper.

He held me but couldn’t fall asleep. Finally, he simply got up and walked out of the bedroom.

In the morning, when I woke up, the bedside was already empty.

Everything that happened last night was like a dream–absurd, oppressive, yet clear enough to be alarming.

I didn’t dwell on it and got up to wash.

Standing in front of the mirror, I tried to control my expression, tidying up my emotions before turning to leave the bedroom.

Passing the study, I glanced inadvertently and saw him sitting in the office chair, posture upright, eyes cold and stern, looking down at documents.

He seemed to have never had moments of weakness and loss of control. That familiar calmness had returned to his face.

Thinking of the details of my plan, I finally gritted my teeth, temporarily set aside my self–respect, and walked forward to knock on the door.

“What is it?” He didn’t look up.

“Yesterday… I’m sorry.” I said softly, my tone carrying deliberately suppressed emotion. “I might have been too wronged, so I said those things.”

He held the documents but remained on the first page, not really reading.

He closed the documents and looked up at me.

I wore simple home clothes, my face slightly pale, long hair scattered over my shoulders, messy but powerless.

I knew this appearance would remind him of the past.

But it wasn’t entirely the old me–I would no longer blindly depend on him.

Alh. Daduate Pal

Chapter 170

He looked at me with complex eyes and suddenly said quietly: “Come here.”

I walked into the room and stood in front of him.

“Let’s go back to the manor, I’ll go apologize to Linda.” I suggested proactively, my voice gentle but somewhat difficult.

His sharp gaze locked onto my face, and he suddenly smiled coldly: “Why do I feel you’re unwilling?”

My fingertips tightened slightly: “I am… unwilling. But for you, I can apologize.”

He said nothing, just examined me more seriously, as if trying to see something from me.

I deliberately restrained all emotions, not letting him see the secrets in my heart.

“Do you still love me?” he suddenly asked.

I was stunned, not expecting him to ask such a question.

There were too many rifts between us. Words of love, even I wouldn’t believe them if I said them.

But I knew now wasn’t the time for truth.

I lied: “…I love you.”

He couldn’t say why, but even though this was the answer he wanted to hear, when he heard it, his heart felt stuffy.

“Pack up properly. We’ll go back to the manor shortly.” He looked away, his tone flat. “You don’t need to apologize to Linda either. There’s no need.”

I didn’t ask for his reasons, just nodded silently and turned to pack.

I didn’t know that Linda had been sent away from Silver Moon pack last night–never to return.

Vargan family manor.

Victoria had already heard about yesterday’s events.

She sat on the sofa holding a cup of hot milk, brows furrowed, eyes full of annoyance.

“I used to think Aurora was a woman without schemes. Now it seems I misjudged her.”

She put down the milk, unable to drink it anymore. At this moment, a maid approached and said:

“Madam, the Alpha and Luna have arrived.”

A flash of complex emotion crossed Victoria’s eyes.

Chapter 170

“I understand.” She put down the cup, dismissed everyone else, and walked up to the attic alone.

Pushing open the long–sealed door, the furnishings inside were covered with white cloth and covered in dust.

She didn’t know why she had suddenly come here.

Victoria stood at the doorway gazing for a while, then took out her phone and sent me a text message.

“Come upstairs, let’s meet and talk.”
