Alpha’s Regret CH 172

Alpha’s Regret CH 172

Victoria’s meaning couldn’t be clearer.

Because I sometimes had neurological hearing loss, she worried the child might inherit it, afraid this “heir” wouldn’t be perfect.

One child, 200 million.

But after giving birth, the child would have to be returned to their “family” to raise.

Wasn’t this blatantly “buying a child“?

I couldn’t help but sneer. The Vargan family was indeed consistent – they spoke so directly and acted so generously.

“Victoria, I’m afraid your calculations are wrong.” I looked at her calmly. “I have the ability to support myself. don’t need to depend on anyone and can still raise a child well.”

Her expression stiffened, and she earnestly advised: “You should think it through carefully, don’t rush to refuse.”

“After all, we both know – where would a divorced woman get.stable income?”

Her words were like a needle, lightly piercing my heart.

I didn’t respond, only thinking coldly:

Did being divorced mean a woman couldn’t live decently on her own?

I said nothing more and got out of the car, leaving Victoria behind.

After returning home, I stood on the balcony outside Ferris’s room, looking at the rolling mountain scenery in the distance, Victoria’s words still echoing in my mind.

Someday, I would let her know – I never needed to depend on men to live more clearly than anyone else.

Ferris had gone somewhere, leaving me alone in the room with a somewhat oppressive atmosphere.

What puzzled me was that I hadn’t seen Linda since returning.

With her personality, wouldn’t she have gone to the Vargan family to complain?

Meanwhile, in the quaint house on the eastern side of the manor-

Old Alpha Chandler sat in the main seat with a cup of hot tea beside him. The butler stood at his side, and Ferris was on the right.

Chapter 172

Sitting across were Ferris’s cousin Ford Vargan and his wife Camilla Vargan.

Ford got straight to the point: “GrandfatherCamilla and I rushed back from abroad immediately after finishing our business. I heard Ferris let an outsider manage part of the family enterprise…”

He paused, then added: “I just think family enterprises should be managed by family members.”

“If Ferris has been busy lately, Camilla and I can help.”

Recently, for the first time in years, Ferris had slightly loosened his control over Silver Moon pack’s power, delegating some business to management talent he hired, freeing up time for family matters.

He naturally expected that his behavior would soon attract some “flies” who smelled the cake.

Ford’s words were shameless to the extreme.

Silver Moon pack was indeed Ferris’s inheritance, but many of the industries and groups within it were built by Ferris himself.

Years ago, this couple had angered Chandler with their selfishness, leading him to assign them to manage a subsidiary with no prospects – essentially exile.

Now seeing the company’s good momentum, they wanted to return for a share.

Ferris just smiled without speaking, waiting to see what other “family first” rhetoric they could produce.

Old Chandler was shrewd, smiling on the surface but with an unyielding tone: “If you want to help Ferris, shouldn’t you ask if he’s willing first?”

Ford was stunned, immediately losing face.

Camilla quickly gave her son Allen a look.

Allen understood immediately, looking at Chandler with round eyes and an innocent expression: “Great–grandfather~ please help mom and dad. Uncle Ferris listens to you most~”

Since Ferris had no heir, this child was currently Chandler’s most beloved. Hearing him act spoiled, Chandler’s heart softened and he was about to speak.

But Ferris coldly interrupted.

“The general manager I hired is a talent who formerly served as a high–level executive in multinational corporations. His ability is unquestionable.” His tone was indifferent. “If I remember correctly, your own companies have been nearly bankrupt for years?”

“Such ‘family members‘ would make me even more worried
