Alpha’s Regret CH 206

Alpha’s Regret CH 206

That night, went to my room.

Exhausted, but when I closed my eyes, his face popped up–the way he’d look leaving.

That stare… only once before, on our wedding night.

Then, he’d been cold, angry, pent–up, but flickered when he saw me cry.

Tonight, same look.

I rolled over, tried to sleep.

But unease gnawed, kept me up.

Elsewhere, Ferris stayed at a fancy hotel nearby, staring down at the streets, face stone–cold.

Adrian thought Silver Moon Pack was Ferris’s turfbut there, Ferris held back

Here? No rules.

After Adrian’s accident, Black Mountain Pack rushed him out, buried the news.

I didn’t know about the crash. Next morning, I had the door fixed.

Planned to stay, work on my new drug research.

Once Ferris gave up, I’d rejoin Linus.

I showered, changed, headed out to shop.

Opened the door. There he was–Ferris, across the street, leaning against a black Maybach, cigarette in hand.

Sunlight ruffled his hair. Looked like he hadn’t slept.

He saw me, stubbed out the cigarette, crushed it deep in a trash can–like he feared the smoke might taint me.

I pretended not to notice, turned the other way.

He chased after me, steps quick, almost panicky.

“I-”

I stopped, turned, calm as can be.

If yesterday wasn’t clear enough.” I said. “I don’t want you. Ferris, please. Lets end this right.”

He froze.

A shadow crossed his eyes, like cold water dumped on him.

“You know I haven’t slept a wink since you left?” His voice went hoarse.

I scoffed. “Can’t sleep? See a doctor.”

Three years of marriage, I’d lost more sleep than him.

Ferris’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He suddenly pulled me into a hug–too fast to dodge.

“Tell me what to do. Just… come back.” He muttered, voice strained.

Chapter 200

His smellsmoke, faint made my stomach turn.

gritted my teeth, stayed steady, shot back. “You read my letter, right?”

He tensed.

I pressed on, each word a cut, settling scores.

“I got the wrong guy from the start. The one I liked… it wasn’t you.”

He froze, like turned to stone.

Blood stilled. Eyes locked. Even his breath hitched.

“Sorry.” I whispered. “Wasted years, being stupid.”

“Now I’m letting you go. You should let me go, too.”

-I never liked you.

-I’m freeing you.

Ferris’s eyes reddened, like a wound torn open. His voice scraped raw. “No.”

I didn’t get it. He’d been the one to push me away, to want out. Why cling now?

Ferris fought to stay calm, gentle, so he wouldn’t hurt me. “I’ll send Ashley away. We can go back. Please?”

No answer.

He kept going. “Bought your family’s old house. Move back, we’ll live there.”

“Want to work? I’ll build you a hospital, a lab. Make you CEO. Whatever you want.”

“Just name it. I’ll do it.”

I’d never seen Ferris like this. I pried his hands offstepped back, resolve hard as steel.

“I want nothing.”

Just peace. No more interruptions.

Love? Marriage? Given up on that long ago.

I thought he’d leave soon. But days later, he opened a branch of his company in Malski,

Right near my place.
