Alpha’s Regret CH 216

Chapter 216

As I spoke, I fell asleep without knowing when.

This time, Ferris was completely unable to sleep. His mind was full of Dennis’s words: “The person she liked was always me, the person she should have

married was me!”

He finally managed to fall asleep, only to dream that I had left him.

When he woke up, it was still dark, and I was still sleeping beside him.

Ferris couldn’t fall back asleep at all, so he got up and called Dennis, but no one answered.

He could only call Victoria: “Mom, where’s Dennis?”

Dennis’s condition relapsed, he was sent for treatment. What’s wrong?” Victoria’s voice carried worry.

erris’s eyes turned slightly cold: “Nothing much.”

fter hanging up, he walked to his study, opened his computer, and saw the message I had left for his customer service account.

t read: “Thank you for your help. Honestly, I really need this cooperation lately. Also, I don’t know why you asked about my divorce before, but I want to tell ou that although my marriage wasn’t good, not all marriages are like that. If you also have marital problems, I hope you can resolve them. I hope you and your rife will be happy.”

ooking at this long string of text, Ferris felt very complicated.

le couldn’t help but reply: “But she doesn’t seem to love me anymore. What should I do?”

groggily heard my phone and picked it up to see a message from the website contact person I had signed with before.

hadn’t expected the other party to also have marital problems, much less that they would reply to me.

typed: “Is there some misunderstanding between you two?”

erris looked at it and typed: “I used to treat her badly… she used to love me very much.”

fter typing, he deleted it.

ecause I had never loved him!

fter a long silence, he changed it to: “I used to treat her very badly, and now she’s with someone else.”

had no idea the person on the other end was Ferris, and going by the literal meaning, I didn’t associate it with myself at all.

‘m sorry, I don’t know how to help you either,” I replied.

efore long, the other party sent another message: “It’s okay, I won’t let her leave, even if the person she loves isn’t me!”

was about to reply when my phone showed the other party had gone offline.

ist as I was thinking about leaving a comforting message for this kind person, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

erris was standing at the door at some point: “Awake?”

Get up and have breakfast.”

quickly put away my phone.

i saw my little action and, knowing I had just been chatting with him, deliberately asked:

Who were you texting?”

I got up from bed and lied without blushing or skipping a beat: “Cynthia.”

He didn’t press further.

After washing up, I sat in the dining room eating hot breakfast.

My appetite had increased considerably lately, but I still couldn’t eat meat-the smell made me nauseous.

After breakfast, Ferris personally helped me put on layer after layer of clothing.

When going out, he even draped his own coat over me.

“Where are we going?”

I really didn’t want to go out.

The winter in Silver Moon Pack was wet and cold; no matter how many clothes you wore, you couldn’t block that bone-deep chill.

I didn’t want to move at all.

“Get in the car first. Once you’re in the car, it won’t be cold anymore,” Ferris said gently.

I reluctantly got in the car.

After the car started and I saw the familiar route, I knew where he was taking me.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the mansion where I had lived as a child.

I hadn’t expected him to actually buy this place.

Pushing open the door, the house was clean and tidy, almost unchanged from before.

Ferris had someone turn on the heating in advance. When I walked in, the house was warm and cozy, without a trace of cold.

“How did Ashley agree to this?” I couldn’t help asking.

When I first returned to Silver Moon Pack, I had also wanted to buy back this old mansion, but Ashley absolutely refused.

She had even said smugly to my face: “You know what? The first time I came to your house as a child, I swore that this place would be mine someday.”
