“Calm down big boy” I soothed with a laugh, feeling his arms wrap around me before my chest was flush against his.
“I mean it Zoe, you are mine!” he growled, the sign of dominance from my mate making me squirm in pleasure. What was wrong with me? I knew if he was using that tone with anyone else then whoever was on the receiving end would most likely be shitting themselves, but me, no I was purring at the sound of my mate dominating my wolf like he was.
“I know, as you are mine Hunter. I have skills, if a bitch comes after you then they’re going to find themselves ripped to shreds before you can blink” I stated matter–of–factly, wiggling my brows as I pushed on his chest to sit back upright. However much I wouldn’t mind another round, that didn’t mean it would do us any good if we got distracted yet again. We had the rest of our lives to make love, something that I planned on doing more often than not.

I wiggled free before freezing, knowing how much practically grinding against him was getting him more than a little excited. “He was angry and upset Zoe, his wolf was at the surface of his mind-” he started to speak but I found myself growling warningly much to his shock as his eyes widened briefly.

“Are you seriously saying that I deserved what he said?” I snapped, seeing panic cross his features before quickly speaking to explain. “Of course I’m not, Zoe. It’s just, I’m not condoning what he said but you have to understand that a mated male wolf acts differently to that of a female” he stated causing me to frown.
“Like what?” I couldn’t help but ask, beyond curious as my anger was instantly forgotten about. At my question he sighed, leaving his head back onto the soft grass covered ground before speaking.
“Male wolves are possessive Zoe; even the thought of losing you is…it’s just too painful to even think about. Trust me if something happened to you, I doubt anyone close by would survive” he stated so honestly that I couldn’t help but feel my breath catch in my throat at his confession. “He can’t help it, since I’m the alpha I have to control it, Jack like the rest of the males in the pack don’t” he continued making me daze off into my own thoughts. I was only brought out of it when he pinched my thigh slightly causing me to jump back to the present.
“I don’t hate him” I mumbled almost to myself, but he answered anyway.
“I know you don’t baby, but it’s getting dark you want to go home?” he asked hopefully, making it clear that he meant for me to back with him. I sighed, while I had said I didn’t want to stay where my parents were I was too exhausted to head to my small apartment so I just simply nodded much to his delight.
