Chapter 8
Everyone thought Daniel’s arrest was just for show.
Given his current status, without solid evidence, no one could touch him.
But no one expected Daniel to confess to all his crimes.
He said he killed Violet because she was one of the culprits who caused my death.
He said he drove Brody to suicide and asked the law to give him the punishment he deserved.
The interrogating officers exchanged bewildered glances, looking confused. One young officer couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Kelly, why are you confessing?”
Clearly, if he just denied everything, he could continue being the high and mighty “Mr. Kelly.”
Daniel touched the photo in his pocket and said with that strange tenderness, “Because I want to be with my wife. I want to apologize to her.”
He finally felt regret, finally broke down crying, finally wanted to admit his wrongs before me.
Too bad I no longer wanted his devotion.

As he walked into prison, he asked the guard, “Can I get the death penalty?”

The guard was too shocked to speak, and after a long struggle, finally said, “Probably not.”
Daniel sighed and said helplessly, “Then I guess I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.”
At the time, I didn’t understand what he meant.
But soon, I found out.
Daniel somehow managed to smuggle a sharp dagger into the prison.
This dagger was even the same one he used to kill Violet.
The tip was stained with a bit of blood, looking terrifyingly sinister.
Before acting, Daniel looked around and said, “Harper, actually, I’ve always felt like you were right beside me.
“I’m going to atone for my sins with death and come to you.
“Before that, would you be willing to come see me?”
I was a bit surprised.

My soul seemed to suddenly become lighter, and all the restraints shattered in that moment.

He seemed to sense something, his voice filled with despair.

Daniel knew that today was our true final goodbye.
He hesitated no more and used the dagger to cut his artery.

I heard all of this, but I only paused for a moment without looking back.
A few days later, the police sorted through Daniel’s belongings.
Daniel’s parents were dead, he had few relatives, and the Morrison family, who could have been considered family, had all been destroyed by him.
The police didn’t know who to give his belongings to.
After several transfers, his belongings somehow ended up with Frankie.
Frankie casually looked through them and discovered Daniel’s suicide note among the items.
His final words were written on the most ordinary stationery.
Seeing Daniel’s handwriting, Frankie snorted coldly and casually tossed it aside.
A breeze from nowhere lifted the paper, revealing the words
