Chapter 9
Isabella’s POV
His eyes flickered, voice trembling with guilt.
“I was wrong, Isabella. I swear I was wrong. It was all my fault.”
Suddenly, a strange gleam flashed through his eyes, like a child asking for praise. “I’ve already sent Liliana to the Pack Detention Facility. She was the one who sent those recordings to the auction. I didn’t protect her. She’s being punished. Doesn’t that prove I love you? Doesn’t that prove I regret everything I’ve done?”
I let out a cold laugh and stepped closer, staring him down. “Then tell me, why are you still sitting here, talking to me face to face?”
“What?” He froze.
“You drugged me with synthetic pheromones. You let your own pack members force their marks on me. You filmed it. And yet here you are, free and smug, instead of rotting in a pack prison where you belong.”
My voice grew louder with every step until he was backed against the wall.
“You were so decisive when it came to destroying my life. But when it comes to paying the price, you suddenly can’t follow through?”
His lips quivered. He tried to defend himself. “It wasn’t me. My parents pulled strings. They forced me out.”
I clapped mockingly. “How touching. I didn’t know the heir of the almighty Thorne family could be such a good little boy. When your parents told you to treat me well, to stop coddling Liliana, did you listen then? No? Figures. You’re just a dog with a double standard.”
I laid out every ugly truth he tried to avoid, one by one.
He dropped to his knees, sobbing into his hands. “What do I have to do for you to forgive me?”
I dusted off my sleeves and looked down at him from above. “Forced marking of an Omega. Use of illegal pheromone stimulants. Collusion in mate assault. Distribution of private footage. According to pack law, how many years do those crimes get you?”
He stammered, eyes vacant. “Minimum ten. Maximum twenty.”
I crouched down and gave his cheek a light pat. “Then I think you know exactly what to do. Get out.”
Kane practically crawled out of the meeting room.
My father watched him retreat, then turned to me. “What’s wrong with him?”
I grinned and winked. “Your daughter scared him off.”
The next day, news of the Thorne family scandal exploded across every major pack channel. The media storm Kane’s parents had tried so hard to bury erupted overnight.
After leaving our horne, Kane had marched straight to the Pack Enforcement Center, shouting about his own crimes. “Arrest me. Lock me up in the werewolf prison. I’m guilty.”
He confessed every detail, from start to finish. Then he called the press himself, asked them to broadcast his statement across all networks. He made it crystal clear the Ward family was innocent and had been victims,
“It’s all on me,” he said. “I failed her.”
His parents followed closely behind, frantically trying to control the narrative. But it was already too late,
Kane had handed himself over to justice,
Cameras followed him from court to custody. And as he stepped into the prison transport vehicle, cuffed and defeated, he turned to the camera, smiled, and let a single tear fall,
“Isabella, did you see my sincerity?”

Yes. I saw it. And I appreciated it. Thanks to him, I could finally be free from that cursed mating bond.
With Kane in custody, I submitted a termination request directly to the Council of Elders. His signature was no longer needed. The bond was dissolved. I was free.
Later, his parents came to see me more than once, crying and begging. “Our son wants to see you. Please, just one visit.‘
I smiled politely and shook my head. Some wounds, once inflicted, can never be undone.
