He said, “Your mental condition is getting worse. I’ll take you to a better hospital for treatment tomorrow. We can’t give up, okay?”
I was completely stunned.
I thought, “Why isn’t Jaiden at the police station right now? Why is he here beside me instead?”
But Jaiden’s inner thoughts answered my confusion perfectly.
“She probably doesn’t know she’s been unconscious for a week. Layla and I were bailed out long ago. As long as Layla and Grace are here, we’ll definitely establish the fact that she’s mentally ill today, so she’ll never be able to fight back again. She has no idea I’m livestreaming this to the entire internet right now. Once she loses it, no one will care about the truth–they’ll just see her as a complete lunatic.”
A chill ran down my spine, and I felt utterly terrified.
Following Jaiden’s thoughts, I quietly glanced back and sure enough spotted a phone already set up behind the door.

I suppressed the anger on my face and spoke slowly, “Where’s my child? Where’s the baby I just miscarried–the one that wasn’t even three months along?”
Jaiden touched my head with feigned concern, “It seems you haven’t been taking enough medication. You keep fantasizing that you were pregnant, and now you’re even imagining a miscarriage.”
Grace and Layla chimed in from the side, “We should just hand her over to the doctors. Maybe after spending a couple of Christmases in the hospital, Ellie’s condition will improve.”
Jaiden’s thoughts kept flowing.
“This stupid woman fell right into the trap. Grace already disposed of that child completely–she has no evidence whatsoever. If she keeps obsessing over that baby, we can directly have her declared mentally ill in a moment.”
I was so furious I gritted my teeth and couldn’t help but fight back, “I’m not mentally ill! You’re the ones who are sick! Surrogacy–such a disgusting thing–only animals like you would do that. How far are you planning to drive me insane? What will it take for you to leave me alone?”

On the surface, he still pretended to look heartbroken, but inside he was overjoyed.
“Keep crying! Better yet, stand up and hit me, curse at me—
let everyone see what a crazy woman you are. Then no one will believe you!”
Just as Jaiden hoped, I suddenly sprang up from the bed, swinging my nails toward his face.
I roared, “Go to hell! You bunch of lunatics! You’ll never be able to repay what you owe me in this lifetime!”
To maintain his devoted persona, Jaiden didn’t dodge even as several bloody scratches appeared on his face.
He lovingly tucked me back under the covers, breathing a sigh of relief and secretly feeling triumphant.
“Now no one will ever doubt me again! Layla and I can finally be together and completely get rid of this burden! This old, ugly woman–I feel sick just looking at her. If it weren’t for the donation money, I wouldn’t even bother with this act.”
The three of them left the hospital room satisfied, walking expectantly toward the livestream camera.
They greedily anticipated the flood of donations pouring in, but the scene before them instantly made their faces turn deathly pale.
