Chapter 7
This moment I finally understand his intention.
His target was never my daughter–it was me from the start!
If I get the death penalty, he has ten thousand ways to get my heart.[]
I raise the gun at him: “Since I’ve already killed someone, I’m not afraid to add you to the count.
Harrison Carter smiles sinisterly: “You wouldn’t dare. Kill me and your daughter dies tool“]
“My daughter really is in your hands–where is she?
My tone becomes urgent–I want to kill him immediately.[]
“Didn’t you say you knew? So it was all bluffing? Don’t worry, go surrender quickly and I’ll release your daughter immediately.“[
Seeing his smugness, I laugh instead of getting angry.
“My daughter is in this preschool, right?“]
“Nice guess, but only I know her exact location.”
“She’s in the preschool bus.“]
Harrison Caner’s smile freezes on his face.]
I check the time–exactly 8 PM.
Commotion erupts outside: “Found her, the child’s been found!]
“Damn, what kind of sitko hides a kid under the bus seats!”
I close my burning eyes and raise the gun at him.]
“Harrison Carter, dier
With a tremendous boom, Harrison Carter clutches his chest and slowly falls.
His eyes stare at me in shock, as if confused.
I put away the gun, crawl out of the passage, and surrender.}
When the handruffs go on. I see my husband by the ambulance with our daughter in lus arms.
I smile at them through tears
A little girl nearby calls out “Ms. Reed! Ms. Reedr
I turn to see Emma, her neck still stained with red ink.
“Ms. Reed, did I perform well today? Can I play the lead role next time?“]
I crouch down and nod confidently: “Emma’s acting was excellent. You’ll definitely get to be the lead next time.”
Sitting in the interrogation room. I confess everything.[]
I describe how I made bombs and planned it all.
“I really had no choice. I did all this alone and accept any verdict.”
Even the death penalty–I can accept it.[]
A detective questions me: “Why choose this method? Also, why was your husband at the scene? How did you manage all this alone?”
I’m silent for a moment, then answer: “He came looking for me and our daughter, but she was missing and I was too ashamed to face him. I did everything alone–it has nothing to do with him.”
Without me, and without her father too, who would protect my child?]
The detective presses: “Why use such methods to find your child? Do you know what kind of impact you’ve caused?”
Of course I know, but I had no choice.]
Didn’t I call the police? But they couldn’t find her.
“I plead guilty and accept any punishment.“]
Officer Williams speaks: “Peach, while you didn’t actually kill anyone, your actions have caused terrible social impact.“]
1 look at him in surprise, my hands involuntarily clenching into fists.
“What do you mean? Harrison Carter didn’t die?
Impossible–I saw him clutch his chest and fall with my own eyes.
If he’s not dead, was thus all for nothing?
Will he take revenge on my daughter and husband?!)
Just thudang about this possibility makes me tremble uncontrollably []
“Ties dead, but from sudden cardiac arrest, not directly related to you.”
I’m completely stunned ||
How is thus possibler
