Chapter 45
Maurice was stunned by Narissa’s words. This seemingly frail Narissa didn’t just reject his offer; she aimed straight for his throne.
What’s more, he didn’t expect that his initial attempt to intimidate her not only failed but also left him startled and deeply impressed.
“Y–you’ve got some nerve!” sputtered one of Maurice’s loyalists. “The Fire Wolves are Maurice’s creation. You think you can just walk in and demand to be the head? Who the hell do you think you are?”
“Yeah!” another thug jeered. “Some nobody bitch waltzes in to steal the crown? You got a death wish!”
“Big deal she hurt Mr. Robles’s wolves. Probably cheated somehow,” someone else scoffed.
These men looked down on Narissa and refused to accept her. They didn’t know Narissa, but they knew Maurice’s strength.
The members of the gang admired the strong/They submitted to no one but respected the powerful. To command them, one had to prove they could defeat them.
“So you’re the one calling us weak?” Suddenly, a tall and muscular man stepped out of the crowd. He cracked his knuckles, rolling his thick neck. “Since you’re so tough, let’s play.”
Nelson exclaimed excitedly, “Parker! Mr. Robles’s strongest fighter. She’s finished now. He’s gonna crush her.”
“Take this!” With that, Parker launched an attack on Narissa. His speed increased rapidly, typical of an explosive fighter. In an instant, he threw a punch straight at Narissa’s face.
The punch was so fast that an ordinary person could only see a blur. Only a top–notch fighter could hope to block it.
But Narissa seemed to anticipate it. Just as the punch was about to land, she reached out, blocked it, grabbed Parker’s wrist, and gave a hard tug.
Parker, nearly 200 pounds, was flung into the air as easily as a discarded ragdoll. There was a loud crash.
Everyone could only follow the trail of Parker as he flew backward. When he hit the wall hard, a shiver ran down everyone’s spine. ‘Holy shit, she’s a demon.‘ The thought echoed in every mind.
Spiderweb cracks radiated from the point of impact on the concrete. One could only imagine the incredible power behind Narissa’s throw.
“You-” Parker looked up and pointed at Narissa. But before he could say anything, he spat out a mouthful of blood and passed out on the ground.
Everyone turned their eyes back to Narissa. Nelson said, his voice shaky. “Listen, young lady. Remember whose place this is. That kind of arrogance gets you buried.”
Narissa merely arched an eyebrow. “Oh? I’m getting bored. You’re wasting my time. Why don’t you all come at once? The sun’ll be up soon.”
Nelson thought, ‘One person might not be able to take you down, but a group surely can. Since you’re asking for it, I’ll give you what you want today.

Chapter 45
“You arrogant little-!” Nelson snarled, seizing the opportunity. “You heard her, boys! Let’s show her what happens when you disrespect the Wolves.”
“Get her!” At Nelson’s command, everyone rushed towards Narissa, pulling knives, pipes, or anything at hand. Narissa just glanced at them calmly and then started to act.
There was a series of thuds. As Narissa grabbed and tossed them around, they couldn’t even land a blow before being knocked to the ground like punching bags. She moved with lethal grace, like a predator toying with panicked prey.
Within minutes, the floor was a groaning, blood–smeared landscape of broken men. Narissa dusted her hands off with the casual air of someone finishing light gardening.
Narissa turned to Maurice, who was dumbfounded. “Well, if that’s all,” she said lightly, tapping her temple in a mocking salute, “I’ll be going. Bye.”
“Wait!” Maurice scrambled up, legs like jelly. He stumbled, crashing painfully into a table corner, tears springing to his eyes.
Ignoring the pain, Maurice lunged, grabbing the air near her sleeve. He stumbled in front of Narissa. “Wait! Please. I accept! Your terms. I accept.”
Maurice drew himself up, his voice trembling but resolute. “From this moment on, you are the new head of the Fire Wolves Gang.”
A collective gasp of disbelief filled the room. “Mr. Robles! No!” Nelson cried out, horrified. “This is your gang. You built it. You can’t just ”
Maurice cut him off, his voice gaining strength. “I’ve come this far not with my fists, but with my eyes. I see talent.”
“And she,” he pointed a shaking finger at Narissa, radiating absolute conviction, “is the best leader the Fire Wolves need.”
He continued, “She will lead us to dominate the entire underworld of Sinney. Right, Ms. Everton?” The fierce declaration ended with an almost comically eager look towards Narissa.
Narissa was pleased that Maurice was so understanding and showed her enough respect.
‘Fine,’ she thought. ‘Why not? Acquiring this gang might even prove useful for the Military Intelligence Office later. Clean up the mess in Sinney’s underworld.‘
“Fair point,” Narissa conceded. “But I’m busy right now. No time for expansion plans or babysitting your crew.”
Her gaze pinned Maurice. “Since you trust me, you’ll continue to run this gang. Report only if it’s urgent. Don’t call me unless it’s worth my time.”
Maurice blinked, stunned. “The takeover wasn’t a takeover? She just wants the title? The figurehead? So I still run the show?‘ he wondered.
Maurice rubbed his hands and became even more respectful towards Narissa. A person with such strength and generosity couldn’t be the so–called “useless Everton second heiress,” as rumored. He thought, ‘Did we just strike gold?‘
His men were equally stunned, especially Nelson, who now tasted bitter regret. ‘If I’d known she just wanted the title, not the real power. I could’ve kissed up. Maybe she’d have let me be the real leader out of goodwill,‘ he thought.
Narissa thought for a moment. She was a stickler for form. Even when being chased by Bastien, she took the time to taunt

and enrage him.
“Well, since this gang is mine now,” she announced, “its name needs an upgrade. ‘Fire Wolves‘ is a bit tacky.”
Maurice asked, “Of course. Ms. Everton, do you have any good ideas? We’re all ears.”
“Overlord Alliance,” Narissa declared.
“Overlord Alliance,” Maurice and the others fell silent, taken aback by the new name. Overlord–master of its domain. Alliance—unrivaled, singular.
It was bold. It declared intent to crush every rival underfoot. And yet it was blunt, unflinching, wearing its ambition like a badge. It’s a perfect name.
