Chapter 60

Not long after Cressida left with the evidence, Narissa finished her bath.

She put on her bathrobe, picked up her phone, and glanced at it, then tapped into the management settings to decrypt the

hidden data

When she exited back to the main screen, the detailed chat history between her and Octopus about the The Blood Ruby appeared on the display.

“Still no reply?” Narissa muttered to herself when she saw there was no response from Octopus. She then switched her phone back to its original interface.

In an instant, the chat with Octopus was replaced by the flirtatious messages with a rich guy–the very same ones Cressida had photographed.

Obviously, Narissa had set up this fake chat history just to cover up the real conversation

Her goal was to make sure no one would suspect a thing.

By the time Narissa got back to the villa with her phone, it was just about dinner time.

They could cook for themselves in the villa, or just order takeout and have it delivered.

Hector had come home early, so he’d already had dinner sent over.

When he saw his wife and daughters all back, he called everyone over to eat right away.

Amanda patted the seat next to her, inviting Narissa to sit down.

But just then, Cressida waved at Hector. “Dad, can you get Mom over here? I need to talk to you both alone. It’s really important.”

“Cressida, what’s with you? Narissa is your sister. What could possibly be so important that you have to keep it from her?” Hector said, sounding both puzzled and a little reproachful.

“Dad, just trust me on this. It’s about Narissa, and she really can’t hear it,” Cressida said, glancing nervously at Narissa.

Seeing that Narissa was still focused on her food, Cressida let out a small sigh of relief.

Hector led Amanda over.

“Why all the mystery, Cressida? What is it you want to say?” Amanda asked.

Cressida’s expression turned serious. “Mom, Dad, you didn’t believe me before, but now I have proof. Narissa really is being kept by a wealthy man, and she’s still in touch with him.”

“What?” Amanda’s eyes widened in shock.

“Cressida, she’s your sister. You can’t just go around spreading rumors that could ruin her reputation,” Hector said sternly.

“I’m not making this up. I snooped through her phone and took pictures of the chat logs. If you don’t believe me, just look for yourself,” Cressida said, pulling out the evidence.

When they saw the messages showing Narissa flirting with someone named 008, both Hector and Amanda frowned deeply.

“This really is…” Amanda trailed off, still struggling to believe it.

“Mom, Dad, all this evidence is still on Narissa’s phone. If you don’t believe me, just ask her to show you. I would never make up something like this,” Cressida insisted.

Cressida’s expression turned icy as she half–covered her face. “If this really gets out, the Everton family will become the laughingstock of Sinney City.”

Hector and Amanda fell into a brief silence.

Amanda lowered her head even further, looking clearly distraught.

Cressida shot another glance at Narissa from across the room.

‘Now that I’ve got irrefutable evidence, let’s see how she can still trick Mom and Dad into taking her side,‘ she thought.

. Narissa kept eating like nothing was wrong, but in truth, she’d already figured out why Cressida had called their parents over.

With her keen instincts, she could always tell if someone had messed with her things. Nothing ever escaped her notice.

But that was exactly what she wanted.

She’d left those chat logs out on purpose–partly to keep her real secret safe, and partly to see just how much her parents would tolerate for her sake.

If they chose not to trust her, then she would bear with the consequences.

Just as Narissa was making a risky bet on her parents‘ trust, Amanda suddenly rushed over to her, her eyes rimmed with

tears.

She grabbed Narissa and yanked her up so hard that her chair crashed to the floor.

Narissa’s heart went cold. ‘Just as I thought, they don’t believe me,‘ she thought.
