Chapter 66

Narissa just kept waiting.

The danger she was expecting hadn’t shown up yet, but Hector and Amanda had already come out to look for her.

“That’s odd,” Amanda muttered, “Where did that girl wander off to? She’s been gone so long, and there’s not even a trace of

her…”

Narissa’s eyes grew cold.

Right at that moment, from the shadows, a needle so fine it was almost impossible to see whistled out, aiming straight for Amanda’s carotid artery.

Narissa just so happened to be an expert in emergency acupuncture.

She knew every acupoint on the human body like the back of her hand.

Clearly, whoever launched that needle attack knew their stuff, too.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have aimed straight for a deadly acupoint. If the poisoned needle pierced it, the toxin would spread through the bloodstream in an instant.

At best, it would leave someone paralyzed; at worst, it would kill them on the spot.

This attacker was clearly there to kill.

Narissa thought, ‘Danger has finally arrived.

‘How dare they!‘

Narissa had only just reunited with her real parents. She hadn’t even had the chance to truly enjoy the warmth of family yet.

She thought, ‘No matter who it was, if they dared to make a move tonight and try to destroy my happiness, they’d have to face the fury of Agent Fox. They are courting death.

Narissa pulled a hairpin from her hair and sent it flying in a flash.

The slim black hairpin shot out and managed to intercept the needle about 10 feet from Amanda.

The needle struck the ordinary hairpin, snapping it clean in half from the force, but the impact was enough to knock the needle off course–both the broken hairpin and the needle dropped to the ground together.

Narissa knew the attacker was still hiding in the shadows. If one plan failed, they’d definitely try another.

To make sure her parents didn’t get hurt, Narissa decided to step out and then come up with her next move.

Like a nimble fox, she silently slipped down from her perch and walked up behind her parents.

“Dad, Mom, are you looking for me?” she called out, blinking playfully.

To anyone who didn’t know bettershe would have seemed like just an ordinary girl, cherished and loved by her family.

Amanda spun around, and when she saw Narissa, her face lit up with a smile.

“Your dad and I were worried you’d gotten lost and were about to go look for you,” she said.

Narissa raised her arms and pulled her parents close in a warm hug.

+20)

What they didn’t realize was that, in that very instant, Narissa had already caught over a dozen needles aimed at her parents, trapping each one perfectly between her fingers and letting them fall silently to the ground.

her

To keep her parents from noticing anything unusual, she linked arms with them.

Then she led them back inside the villa.

The figure lurking in the shadows spotted a chance. Thinking Narissa would be caught off guard with her arms occupied, they tried to launch a sneak attack from behind.

This time, they upped the ante–dozens of needles shot straight toward the three of them.

In the split second as her parents turned away, Narissa swept both hands to flick the hem of her coat.

With a deft grab and a sharp flick, she used the motion of her coat to deflect every single needle, sending them clattering harmlessly to the ground.

Just as the attacker was about to try a fourth sneak attack, Narissa had already gotten her parents safely inside the villa and

closed the door behind them.

Judging by the way the attacks were carried out, Narissa was certain it was all the work of a single person.
