Janet accompanied Mom to take her sister to the funeral home.
An afternoon passed, but Mom seemed to have aged over a decade in an instant.
Janet felt a sharp pang in her heart.
Just then, Justin sent a message.
“Within two hours, go to the stylist to pick up Helen’s gown and deliver it to the banquet hall. Helen will give you the address.”
Janet was so angry she almost laughed. She resisted the urge to block and delete him, replying with just two words: “Busy.”
Justin quickly replied, sending the video of her sister again.
The threat was clear.
Janet clenched her phone so hard her knuckles turned white.
Seeing the message, Mom lost control of her emotions. “My daughter is already dead! What else does he want!”
“Will he only be satisfied when he’s ground her bones and scattered her ashes!”
Crying, Janet hugged her emotionally distraught Mom.

The address Helen gave was ambiguous. Janet ended up rushing, sweating profusely, and arrived just in time.
Justin had someone waiting for her at the door.
Sure enough, from a distance, Janet saw a man’s figure at the door.
But the closer she got, the clearer it became, and her heart instantly plunged into an icy, bottomless abyss.
She couldn’t even maintain her composure; she was so angry her eyes turned red.

“Janet, Helen asked me to meet you at the door.”

Janet’s fingernails nearly dug into her palms as she swallowed the bitterness and anger rising in her throat.
“Were you invited by Helen?”

Janet was pulled away after only a few blows.
Helen walked out arm in arm with Justin, frowning at the scene before
her.
“Janet, who gave you permission to hit my client?”
“You must apologize to him.”
“Apologize?”
Enraged to the point of laughter, Janet’s voice turned hoarse. “He ruined my sister! Why should I apologize to him!”
Helen’s eyes sharpened, “You can’t make such reckless claims. The court hasn’t issued a verdict yet–this is slandering my client.”
