Chapter 4
Sean Nelson admired Helen Rodriguez’s defiant spirit..
Without even glancing at Janet Johnson, he commanded, “Kneel and apologize.”
Janet’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Instinctively, she protested, “Justin, have you lost your mind? Don’t you
realize he’s-”
Her words were cut short.
Justin Nelson gave a casual gesture.
Bodyguards immediately forced Janet to the ground.
When she resisted, they gripped her hair and slammed her forehead against the floor.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Each impact echoed with bone–chilling brutality.
Blood streamed down Janet’s forehead, blurring her vision.
Only when Helen’s expression softened did Justin signal the guards to
stop.
Janet broke free and collapsed onto the dirt, disheveled.
Tears of humiliation mingled with blood, dripping into the soil.

He offered a white handkerchief, his tone deceptively gentle though his eyes remained cold.
“Janet, didn’t I warn you to drop this case?”
“Your relentless pursuit will destroy Helen completely.”
“You’re truly heartless.”
Janet pushed herself upright, swatting the handkerchief from his hand.
“Think whatever you want.”
Her voice rasped as she struggled to stand.
Justin’s gaze darkened momentarily at the discarded cloth.
Returning to Helen, he slid an arm around her waist.
“Take us back to the manor.
Helen glanced at Janet’s frail, shattered figure and deliberately raised her voice.
“Aren’t you seeing me home tonight?”
Justin tightened his grip, planting a lingering kiss on her lips.
“Not yours tonight. Mine.”
Pain stole Janet’s breath.
As the car engine faded, the weight of humiliation bent her spine.
Justin left her no transportation.

Chapter 4
Janet reached the manor past midnight.
Fingers trembling on the lock, she heard escalating moans inside.
Each sound lashed her face like an icy slap.
Her knuckles whitened on the doorknob, courage failing her.
Janet stood frozen at the entrance for an hour.
The late autumn winds of New York bit deep-
but colder still was her heart.
Justin couldn’t wait to stain the place where their love once blossomed with proof of his passion for Helen.
Janet hurried toward the stairs.
Helen intercepted her, draped only in a towel.
Flushed yet haughty, she declared:
“Spare me the victim act, Ms. Johnson. Let’s be clear–I’m no homewrecker!”
