Chapter 20
Thinking it foolish to waste time on his own affairs.
Clearly, he should have been next.
Justin Nelson simply stood up to leave.
After just a few steps, a familiar female voice reached him.
“Hey, where’s the patient who was just here?”
“Never mind. Next! You come in.”
The surrounding noise seemed to vanish instantly.
Only her voice echoed in Justin’s ears, mingling with thunder, growing clearer.
His breathing quickened, sweat beading in his palms.
Justin slowly turned around.
Though only her profile was visible,
he recognized her instantly–the woman he’d longed for day and night.
“Janet.”
Justin’s lips trembled, eyes blazing with joy as he rushed forward.
A security guard blocked his path.
“Sir, if you need to see the doctor, get in line.”

Struggling against the guard, he growled through gritted teeth, “Back off! I’m here for someone.”
The guard eyed him with bafflement,
expression hardening.
“Even if you’re looking for someone, follow the rules. Or we’ll have to drag you out.”
Just then, a strikingly handsome man emerged, standing beside Janet Johnson.
Janet hadn’t noticed Justin yet.

After exchanging words, the man suddenly began scolding her.
Janet hung her head in frustration before him, looking wounded and pitiful.
The man’s frown deepened, his tone turning harsher.
Justin saw red. He landed a fierce punch on the guard,
then charged forward, grabbing the man’s collar to teach him a lesson.
But Roger Hernandez reacted faster.
Sensing Justin’s approach, Roger had braced himself.
Pinning Justin to the ground, Roger glanced at Janet’s pale face and understood everything.
Recognizing Justin, Janet’s face drained of color, her hands trembling

uncontrollably.
She never imagined she’d see Justin Nelson again in this lifetime.
No joy stirred within her. No excitement.
Only hatred–consuming her in an instant.
Her gaze turned glacial.
Justin struggled to lift his head, meeting Janet’s icy, emotionless eyes.
He’d expected this.
A weak, strained smile touched his lips.
“Janet, I finally found you.”
“Don’t be afraid. I saw everything–this man was bullying you.”
“I’ll make it right.
Justin tried to rise,
but Roger’s grip proved unyielding.
He remained pinned, utterly humiliated.
Flushing crimson from futile efforts, Justin seethed.
Roger scoffed, “Bullying Janet?”
“She’s family to me. We were just having our usual banter.”

Yet his laser focus remained on Roger’s words about “the most important person in her life.”
He glared daggers at Roger and snapped, “What’s between you two?”
