I turned around just in time to see Hannah standing frozen nearby, a look of shock and hurt on her face.]]
At her feet lay a dented thermos and spilled porridge.[]
It was a pathetic sight.[]
But whether it was genuine emotion or an act, I couldn’t tell.[]
I raised an eyebrow and glanced at the man beside me. 0
Liam looked momentarily panicked, as if he’d been caught.[]
But he quickly regained his composure.]]
Seeing this, I found it amusing.]
His words from earlier were clearly just wishful thinking. His heart obviously felt otherwise.[]
“What are you doing here?” Liam asked calmly.[]
Hannah’s voice was full of grievance. “You were so sick the of you.“]

“But it seems like you don’t need me now.“[]
Saying this, she crouched down pitifully to clean up the thermos.
She looked as if she had been dealt a heavy blow.[]
Liam’s expression was complicated. He seemed about to say something, but Hannah cut him off. “Mr. Moore, I understand. I hope you and Claire can get back together. You should be good to her.“]]
“It was immature of me.”
“You two go ahead. I’ll clean this up and leave.“[]
As she spoke, she deliberately glanced at the doll that had been tossed into the back seat, then lowered her head and continued to clean the porridge stains on the ground.[]
Seeing her so “understanding,” Liam seemed to be struggling internally.[]
He shifted his feet but stayed put.]
“Go home. I’ll have someone clean this up later.“[]
“No need.“]

Hannah shook her head. “Don’t worry about me, Mr. Moore. I’m not the same helpless child you used to take care of. I took care of you for days when you were sick. I know how to clean this up.“]]
At the mention of her taking care of him, Liam’s face showed a hint of guilt again.]]
But he forced himself to look away.
“Get in the car.“[]
He opened the car door.[]
I didn’t get in. Instead, I said, “I’ll drive myself. Go take care of her.“]]
“We’ve already broken up. There’s no need to put on a show for me anymore.“]]

After I said that, I clearly saw a flicker of delight in Hannah’s eyes.[]
She looked at us.
But her words were full of innocence.]
“You broke up? Why? Is Claire still mad at me?“[]
“Did I come at a bad time?“]]
“It has nothing to do with you. We broke up amicably,” Liam said.]]
He looked at me. “I said I would take you. No matter what happens today, I will keep my promise.“]
As soon as he finished speaking, Hannah suddenly groaned, clutched her heart, and collapsed to the ground.]]
