Chapter 5
Viktor’s expression changed dramatically, a flash of panic crossing his eyes before he quickly suppressed it.[]
He snapped sharply, “First you impersonate Harper’s assistant, now you’re trashing my club. You really think I won’t fight back?!”]
Reed pushed his way through the crowd, unable to hide the viciousness in his eyes:[]
“Watch yourself! In this city, anyone who messes with Mr. Viktor ends up in the hospital or worse!“]]
Ivy crossed her arms, her red lips curving into a contemptuous smile as she twisted the knife:[]
“Hmph, you might roll in here with your little army, but trust me, you’ll be crawling out… if you’re lucky.“[]
Hearing this, my assistant laughed coldly, his eyes cold as ice:[]
“Viktor, I call you ‘Mr. Carter‘ out of respect for Miss Kingston, but you’ve started believing your own bullshit?“]
He slowly paced forward, each click of his leather shoes on the marble floor distinctly audible, each step seeming to land directly on Viktor’s taut nerves.
“The younger Miss Kingston was humiliated right under your nose, and you just stood there and watched.“]
“What was that? Did you get so comfortable playing king while the boss was away that you forgot who really owns your ass?“]
Before he finished speaking, my men moved like wraiths, their strikes precise and merciless. In an instant, the men who had been holding us down were on the floor, howling in pain.
The medical team rushed forward, carefully wiping the blood from my face.[]
My sister’s tears finally broke free as she clutched my sleeve, choking on her words.[]
My assistant sighed, turning to me with a pained expression:[]
“Miss Kingston, now you see? They don’t believe you’re alive.“[]
“Or rather, they’ve been praying you’d never come back.“[]
I leaned lazily against the raised platform, coldly surveying the clowns below.
All their faces showed defiance as they pulled out phones to call for backup.
“One woman thinks she can turn the whole damn city upside down?”
“Acting all high and mighty! Everyone knows Harper Kingston was all talk!“]
“Damn straight! I was running these streets while she was still playing with dolls!“]
“Calling for backup?“]
I scoffed, a hint of amusement in my eyes.[]
“Perfect Saves me the trouble of hunting your friends down one by one.“]

Chapter 5
After hearing my assistant and me, Viktor seemed to realize something, his face suddenly turning ashen as he stumbled back two
steps.
“No… that’s impossible…” his voice trembled uncontrollably. “I watched you go down with my own eyes…“]]
I narrowed my eyes, studying this young man who once followed my every step.
Now he stood in an immaculate suit, a million–dollar watch gleaming coldly on his wrist–quite the picture of success.[]
That incident in international waters years ago was merely my escape plan, but he believed it was real.[]
Before I left, I repeatedly instructed him to take care of my sister, but how had he done that?
My Azure Waters Seal had become as common as cabbage in a market–suddenly everyone had one!
My assistant timely handed me a stack of documents. The rustling of turning pages seemed particularly loud in the silent hall.[]
With each page I turned, Viktor’s breathing grew more rapid.[]
“Misappropriation of Kingston funds: 230 million…“[]
“Forged stock transfer agreements…”
“Secretly transferring the younger Miss Kingston’s properties to Ivy Voss…”
I slammed the file shut, causing a loud bang that echoed through the platform.[]
Viktor’s entire body flinched, beads of sweat forming at his temples.[
“So this is how the ungrateful dog raised by the Kingston family repays us?“]
I slowly rose to my feet.]]
“Is this how you show your gratitude?“]
