**Chapter 13**
In contrast to Julian’s anguish and guilt, Chloe was having a much happier time.

She had made appointments with several friends for a spa day, all paid for with the black card Julian had given her.
As soon as the staff saw the black card, their attitudes changed instantly. “Miss Miller, please, this way. We’ve already cleared the premises for you. All our staff today are here to serve only you.”
Her friends, still college students, had never seen such a display.
They all praised her. “Chloe, your simp really is rich! One card is enough to clear out an entire high–end spa just for you!”
Another chimed in, “That’s so enviable! Chloe, you’re truly a master of romance. Not only did the campus heartthrob publicly confess to you, but even your simp is this wealthy?”
“Chloe, you must be a reincarnated goddess! So many good men bowing down to you. Quick, teach me your ways!”
Julian received a notification about the credit card charge, which was how he knew Chloe was at the spa today.
He came here only to ask about the student ID, but unintentionally overheard her conversation with her friends.
Chloe said proudly, “Men are just pathetic! The worse you treat them, the more they desire to conquer you.”
“Wow, is that how you treat that rich simp?”

“Him? Heh. Honestly, I don’t know why he’s so devoted to me. I don’t recall us ever having much interaction, and then he just suddenly burst out and confessed to me. But, since he’s so rich, why wouldn’t I string him along? If I didn’t, would you all be able to enjoy this level of service with
me?”
“Right, right! Chloe, you’re the best at using men. A role model for us all!”
“Oh, Chloe, by the way, who do you actually like? The campus heartthrob, or this rich simp?”
Chloe smiled triumphantly. “I don’t like anyone. I just love the feeling of everyone loving me. The campus heartthrob is handsome, but his wealth is far too lacking; he can’t give me the luxurious life I want. The simp… haha, he’s handsome too, and rich, but more importantly–my dumb sister likes him. Just thinking that the person my sister likes actually likes me, and hurts her for my sake, makes me so happy, ha ha ha ha!”
Her friends were a little unnerved by her laughter.
“Chloe, why do you hate your sister so much?! She doesn’t seem to have done anything to offend you.”
Chloe pouted. “I told you, everyone has to like me. Whether it’s Mom and Dad, teachers and classmates, or men. My sister and I look the same. When we were little, our parents always dressed us in identical clothes, styled our hair the same, and treated us equally. But I’m not used to that. I want everything to belong only to me.”
A friend said, “So, you’ve managed to snatch the simp from your sister now, right? What do you plan to do next?”
Chloe hummed. “He almost got my sister killed for me, so he did well. I’ll give him some extra good treatment for a while as a reward.”
“Boo hoo hoo, Chloe, you’re practically a queen!”
“We adore you, boo hoo hoo hoo!”
Chloe basked in the admiring gazes of her friends, who treated her like a star. She couldn’t have been happier.
She completely failed to notice that just a wall away, Julian had heard every single word she said, crystal clear.
So, in her words, he was just a rich simp.
So, her recent closeness and initiative were only because he had abused Riley.
So, from beginning to end, she was an utterly selfish and cold–hearted person.
How could such a person risk their life to save a stray cat?!
