**Chapter 17**

Worthless life?
Julian’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
His sharp gaze made her father shiver.
He quickly blurted out, “I–I wasn’t wrong, she
worthless…?”

Julian remembered the documents about Riley he had seen last night.
Her high school score of 692 stabbed his eyes.
“She was inferior to Chloe?”
“Yes, whether it was studies or character, she was good for nothing…”
“She could have gone to an Ivy League school, but you forced her to abandon her education and work odd jobs to put her sister through community college! She was self–reliant and hardworking, living diligently, enduring all your differential treatment, yet she still saved money for a long time, just to buy you a good birthday gift. Is that what you mean by her life being worthless? That she was born to be trampled on by your family of three?!”
By the end of his speech, Julian was trembling all over.
He remembered the day he took Riley to the city hall to register their marriage.
She was so happy, her eyes shining like stars when she looked at him.
At that time, she was abandoned by the entire world.
She saw him as the only light in her life, but what did he do?
Even when the photographer repeatedly reminded him to get closer to the bride during the photo, he refused.
After registering the marriage, he left her alone at the city hall, making an excuse and going home.
She stood alone at the city hall entrance in her best white dress, walking home by herself.
Now, whenever Julian thought of that scene, he felt as if a thousand needles were piercing his heart.
“Max…”
“Ar. Fuentes, your orders.”
*Since some people can’t speak properly, they won’t need to open their mouths again.”
Max nodded slightly. “Understood.”

He walked towards her father, who looked terrified, his face pale. “What are you going to do? Julian, Mr. Fuentes! No matter what, you’re Riley’s husband, and I’m your father–in–law! You can’t do this to me…!”
Max sneered. “Did you ever fulfill your duty as a father to Miss Riley? Did you ever love her, or cherish her like a daughter? If not, what right you have to call yourself Mr. Fuentes‘ father–in–law?!”
Max flexed his wrist, looking down at her father, and said coldly, “According to Mr. Fuentes, I’ll give you three choices. Either I’ll use super gli to seal your mouth shut; or I’ll use needle and thread to sew your mouth shut; or… you’ll remain silent forever. Dead men tell no tales.”
Her father, upon hearing this, was so terrified he wet his pants.
“No, please… I beg you, no matter which option, I’ll die! If Riley knew, even from the grave, that you treated her father like this, she wouldn’t forgive you!”
“You don’t deserve to mention Riley!” Julian kicked him over, then frowned and instructed Max, “Take him out and deal with him. I don’t want to hear his voice again.”
“Yes, sir!”
Her father’s mouth was gagged, and he screamed like a pig being slaughtered.
But it was futile. He was roughly dragged out by several men in black, and silence instantly returned to the room.
Julian turned his gaze to her mother, who had already collapsed to the ground.
Her mother was crying hysterically, unable to string a coherent sentence together.
Julian said, “Take her out too. I don’t want to see her.”
“Yes, sir.”
Her mother was also dragged out.
Witnessing the fate of her father and mother, her aunt and uncle were already terrified.
They hadn’t expected to encounter something like this today, nor did they expect Julian to be so ruthless.
“You are Riley’s aunt?”
Her aunt’s lips trembled as she nodded.
“I’ve read Riley’s diary. When she was little, her parents treated her badly, punishing her by not allowing her to eat. It was you who secretly gave her a piece of biscuit and also gave her New Year’s money.”
He said, “You were kind to Riley, so I won’t touch you. You may leave.”
Her aunt and uncle practically stumbled and crawled out, escaping the villa with their son as if their lives depended on it.
Finally, only Chloe was left in the living room.
Chloe’s lips were pale, and her teeth were chattering. “…Are you going to get revenge for my sister? Yes, our family did treat her badly, but what kind of monster are you?! You were the one who ordered her hands to be broken, you were the one who ordered her to be left without an inch of good skin! You’re the one who deserves to die the most!”
