Chapter 19
Peter lowered his head and looked at Camila’s hand tightly gripping his,
then coldly turned away.
“She had already died.”
“Dead? How is that possible?”
At first glance, she thought it was just painted by Ms. J for Peter.
The further back you look, the more you can see that some of these paintings have clearly aged.
Peter did not answer him.
After a while, he suddenly chuckled.
“Camila, was it really you who was by my side back then?”
Camila froze, looking into Peter’s eyes, her heart pounding in her chest, her fingers tightly gripping her palm.
“Peter, you keep asking me this question, why? Don’t you trust me? What exactly are you questioning? Or is it that you hope that person isn’t me? I see now, did Josephine say something to you again? That bitch not only schemed to steal you away from me, but now she’s trying to drive a wedge between us!”
She cried in grievance, looking at Peter with the corner of her eye as she cried.
She thought that when she cried out for the first time, Peter would come running to hold her.

But he didn’t take a single step towards her.
In astonishment, she even forgot to squeeze out the tears from her eyes.
Peter lowered his gaze and carefully put the painting that she had messed up back in its original place.
“Ah… Peter?”
Peter’s movements seemed a bit numb as he slowly turned his head to look at her. “Aren’t you looking for Ms. J?”
“I took you there.”
Camila felt a sense of joy in her heart.
I thought Peter believed her, so I quickly caught up.
On the way, Peter did not say a word.
Looking at the increasingly desolate road, she suddenly felt a little uneasy.
“Peter, how could Ms. J live in such a remote place?”
Peter stared ahead, not answering her words.
“Peter, how much longer?”
Camila looked at Peter, who seemed so unfamiliar, and couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
“We arrived.”
He spoke lightly.
Camila looked at the standalone villa not far away and couldn’t help but feel a lingering sense of unease.
At the moment when Peter opened the door for her, she suddenly grabbed his hand.
“Is it not too rude to disturb suddenly? Besides, I didn’t bring anything with me today.”
“I took it.”
Peter remained calm.
Later, things were taken out of the trunk, big and small bags.
Seeing that he was so well–prepared, Camila suddenly felt relieved.
“Peter, you were so kind to me.”
“If she had agreed to take me as her apprentice, I would have definitely made a name for myself!”
Peter always looked down at her.
Later, Camila’s hand linked with his arm.
She was about to knock on the door when she saw Peter take out the key from his pocket.
Before she could even wonder how Peter had a key, she was already being led into the house by Peter.
The huge villa was so dim that not even a single light was turned on.
Camila was about to turn on the light when Peter swatted her hand away.
With too much force, she accidentally kicked the thing under her foot.
Camila instinctively lowered her head to look.
“Ah!”

”
The black bag at the door was exactly what Peter had brought in just now.
The hell money inside suddenly scattered out, with a few even covering Camila’s instep.
She widened her eyes and then noticed the strangeness of this room.
There was nobody living here at all!
In the corner of the living room, there were photos, candlesticks, and offerings still placed there!
She turned around to run outside, but found the door blocked tightly by Peter.
“Ah… Peter! What are you doing!”
Peter did not react at all from beginning to end.
But when he saw her about to leave, his eyelids fluttered.
“Weren’t you supposed to meet her?”
He sneered at her.
The next second, a hand grabbed her arm and dragged her to that corner.
Camila instantly screamed wildly, struggling so hard that even her shoes. came off.
Especially when she saw that the person in the photo was Josephine, she immediately widened her eyes.
“Ah!”
“How could it be her?! Josephine is dead? Is she really dead?”
Camila looked at the photo in horror, then turned to Peter.

Peter walked slowly towards Camila, his face pale.
Camila trembled all over, unable to stop herself from stepping back.
She had no choice but to retreat.
Peter grabbed her hair and forcefully dragged her in front of Josephine’s portrait.
With another fierce shake, her head was slammed hard onto the ground.
Camila screamed in pain.
“Bang!”
“Boom!”
When Peter let go of his hand again, Camila’s forehead was stained red
with blood.
She was completely stunned, so scared that she was paralyzed and couldn’t stand up.
Peter brought a brazier and, in front of her, squatted down beside her and
lit it.
