Chapter 171
Just after arriving at the manor and having breakfast with Ferris, I received a text from Victoria.
“Come upstairs, let’s meet and talk.”
The same commanding tone as always. Without needing to meet her, I could imagine her arrogant expression at this
moment.
I told Ferris about this.
He said indifferently: “If you don’t want to go, refuse.”
I couldn’t tell if he was considering my feelings or just being polite.
“I can go,” I replied, then got up to leave.
In the garden, Victoria wore a plain–colored qipao and was personally watering the flowers. Seeing me approach, she handed the watering can to a nearby maid.
“Replace all the ones that don’t bloom.”
“Yes.”
She said this deliberately in front of me.
Not blooming naturally referred to my not bearing children.
I understood of course, but remained composed and approached calmly.
We got into the car one after another. The cabin was quiet for a while.
Victoria rarely spoke in a peaceful tone: “Do you know? I recently met a child, especially adorable, who looks almost exactly like Ferris did as a child.”
She sighed and continued:
“Unfortunately, it’s not our Ferris’s child.”
I suppressed the irritation in my heart and replied lightly: “You should know that Ferris and I not having children isn’t just my problem.”
She naturally knew this. In our three years of marriage, Ferris was rarely home. Even if we wanted to conceive, there was no opportunity.

Chapter 171
She was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked: “So now, has your relationship improved?”
I nodded without saying much.
Victoria had once wanted Ashley to bear a child for Ferris. After discovering Ferris wasn’t interested in me, she placed all her hopes on Ashley. However, now she was completely disappointed in Ashley.
Last time, she personally witnessed Ferris and me kissing in the room. After that, her attitude changed.
Barely concealed joy flashed in Victoria’s eyes. Despite trying to appear calm, her tone remained gentle: “I was unkind to you before. But from now on, as long as you conceive Ferris’s child, I will definitely treat you and the child well.”
Saying this was somewhat humble.
She was truly too anxious about the Vargán family heir, willing to lower her posture and speak to me in a gentle tone–something I wouldn’t have dared imagine in the past few years.
“Whatever you want, I can give you.”
Victoria grasped my hand, her eyes full of sincerity and expectation.
But I understood that her sudden gentleness was because she needed something from me.
I paused slightly, then withdrew my hand.
“I cannot make promises about such things.”
The smile on Victoria’s face froze instantly.
“One child, 200 million. How about it?” She paused, then added:
“Of course, after pregnancy you must accept comprehensive physical examinations. I don’t want the child to have any health problems in the future.”
“Also, after the child is born, it must be raised by the Vargan family.”
