Chapter 3
Isabella’s POV
I slammed the door shut behind me and collapsed against the cold wall, slowly sliding to the floor.
That was it. I couldn’t take it anymore. I didn’t want to hear it. Not a single sound. Not another word.
I don’t know how long I stayed like that. The door opened again.
Liliana stepped in, wearing a flimsy silk nightdress. Her face was flushed, her slender neck covered in deep red marks.
The shower was still running in the bathroom.
She leaned against the doorframe, smug and unbothered, her voice dripping with venom. “You throw yourself at Kane every day, trying to get pregnant like some desperate tramp. Where do you get the nerve?”
“You wanted to carry a pup so badly. Now you’re satisfied? All it took was one word from me and those three were lining up to mark you. Maybe next time I’ll drop you off at the black market where the rogue wolves gather.”
She walked toward me, step by step. I backed away, one step at a time.
“So what if you got, Kane to marry you? His heart was never yours. You didn’t see him just now. The way he touched me. The way he lost control. You’ll never know what that’s like. You’re just a pathetic little toy, good for relieving stress.”
Her red lips curled into a sneer, but all I saw on her face was jealousy.
Bitter, ugly jealousy.
I almost laughed. She was jealous of me? Me, the Omega who had been marked by three Alphas, left bruised and humiliated?
No. She wasn’t jealous of what I’d suffered.
She was jealous of the one–third chance I had of carrying Kane’s pup.

I lowered my gaze and instinctively placed a hand over my stomach.
That tiny movement was enough to set her off.
“A bastard with no father and you’re proud of that? You think you deserve anything?”
Worried Kane might hear us, I played dumb. “Liliana, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. I don’t even know why Kane wanted a paternity test, but I know for sure this pup is his.”
She lost it. “You think you get to carry his child? Who gave you permission? I can’t give him a pup and neither can you.”
She shoved me.
My heel hit the edge of the stairs. My body tipped backward. The world spun. Pain exploded in my back, then sharper, deeper pain bloomed in my abdomen.
Kane burst out of the bathroom, alarmed by the noise,
Liliana immediately flung herself onto the floor, wailing, “Isabella! I was just trying to help you clean up. Why did you attack me?”
“You fell down the stairs yourself. Are you trying to blame me? I didn’t do anything, Isabella. Why would you accuse me?”
Then she glanced at Kane like she just noticed him. Her voice softened as she cried for him. “Kane, don’t worry about me. Please, go check on Isabella. She fell all on her own.”
Kane’s eyes flicked to the marks on her body. Guilt flashed across his face. He quickly pulled off his coat and draped it over her shoulders. “Liliana, are you hurt? I’ll take you to the werewolf hospital.”
“I’m fine. Just my leg hurts a little. Isabella seems to be in worse shape…”

He looked down at me coldly, then barked, “Don’t think I didn’t hear that. Liliana came here to help and you act like this? I didn’t know you were this ungrateful.”
I lay on the floor, eyelids growing heavier by the second. My lips trembled as I tried to speak. “No… I didn’t… she pushed-”
“Cut the act. Still trying to frame Liliana? At least make your lies believable. She’s delicate as hell. How could she push you down? And Liliana is kindhearted. What reason would she have to hurt you? When did you become this twisted?”
He scooped Liliana into his arms. As he passed me on the floor, he gave me a hard kick like I was nothing more than trash in his way. “You like lying there so much? Stay down. Just don’t block the path.”
Liliana turned her head and flashed me a smug little smile.
Then they were gone. The sound of the car engine outside roared as they drove off. My vision darkened.
But I couldn’t pass out. The pain in my stomach wasn’t normal. It was sharp and wrong.
Kane wasn’t coming back for me. I was on my own.
After a long time, I finally managed to pull myself up using the banister.
I didn’t dare call a car. Not like this. Step by step, I dragged myself toward the werewolf hospital.
