Dominic kicked open the hospital room door, sending Vivian by the entrance flying several meters.
Vivian hit her head and was bleeding profusely, but she twisted around and cried out resentfully:
“Dominic, it hurts!”
Dominic didn’t spare Vivian another glance.
The moment our eyes met, he strode towards me.
When he was one step away, I rasped out with all my strength:
“Don’t come near me. You disgust me!”
G-
Dominic was completely wounded by the coldness in my eyes. His eyes glistened with unshed tears.
In the past, as long as he acted pitiful, I would forgive any mistake.
But this time, even if he cried his eyes out, I wouldn’t be moved in the slightest.
With a loud thud, Dominic fell to his knees without hesitation. He crawled to me, gripping my hand tightly despite my struggles.
“Aria, I was wrong… Please forgive me. I’ve cut all ties with Vivian. I’ll only be good to you for the rest of my life!”
“I know you’re just angry right now. You blame me for killing our daughter.”
“I’ll make it up to you, I promise. I’ve really changed!”
He cried until he could barely speak.
But when I heard “daughter“, hatred erupted from the depths of my being.
What he owed me, what he owed our daughter, could never be repaid! Never made up for!
I yanked my hand away and slapped him with all my might.
“Don’t mention our daughter. You don’t deserve to!”
“You say die and I should die, you say come back and I should happily crawl back into your bed. Am I a dog, Dominic?! Am I that cheap?”
I screamed until my voice was hoarse, but my voice and slap were both too weak to cause any real harm.
I fell back onto the bed, gasping for air as tears silently fell.
Baby, I’m sorry. Mommy wasn’t strong enough to protect you. Now I can’t even get revenge.

But in the next moment, sharp slapping sounds echoed through the room.
Dominic was kneeling by the bed, slapping himself with all his strength. Soon his cheeks were swollen and red.
Seeing me open my eyes, he forced a pleading smile:
“Honey, I’ll hit myself for you. Is 100 times enough? If not, I’ll do 1000. I’ll keep going until you’re satisfied!”
I never imagined I’d see such a humble expression on Dominic’s face.
In the past, I would have softened immediately. But now my heart was hard as iron.
I silently watched Dominic slap himself 1000 times before coldly laughing and delivering the cruelest words:
“It’s far from enough! My hatred for you will never fade. It only grows stronger each day.”
“Dominic. looking at you now only disgusts me. There will never be forgiveness be
pon us!”
Shaking his head like a madman.
“No, no, Aria. I’ve waited so long for you to wake up. Do you know how long? One year and eight months!”
“For you, I went to the temple every day to burn incense and pray. I’ve written countless prayer slips. I carry them with me. Whatever you want, I’ll give you…”
“I really can’t lose you. Please, Aria, give me one more chance!”
Dominic eagerly pulled out a stack of prayer slips from his pocket and held them out to me.
I could see some of the writing through the gaps between his fingers.
[I hope Aria wakes up.]
[I hope Aria and I can rekindle our love.]
[I pray we can have another child together.]
I looked at them coldly, only seeing four words in the large handwriting.
Wishful thinking.
He had written countless slips, but not one said [I hope Aria loves me].
Because he was absolutely certain of my love for him.
I laughed, scattering his hopes with one sweep of my hand, and sneered:
“Dominic, did the Buddha tell you that he doesn’t listen to unrealistic wishes?”

With each word I spoke, Dominic’s face grew paler and his shoulders slumped further.
Then, he pulled out a knife from his pocket.
