“What the hell is going on here? Why is there an empty coffin buried in this grave? The daughter’s desperate to dig it up, and the mom’s just as desperate to stop her?“%
People at the scene were whispering nonstop, and the livestream chat was going wild. Everyone was dying to know the truth
Even Captain Shelton looked stunned
But me? My eyes lit up with realization.”
“I knew it,” I said softly.
Captain Shelton turned to look at me. “You knew this coffin was empty all along?“%
I nodded. “Yes. This is what I came here for ”
Puzzled, his frown deepened. “You risked yourself going here just for an empty coffin?”
I smiled faintly. “It’s not just an empty coffin. It’s the key to unraveling the mystery behind all those top scorers who committed suicide”
At that, the crowd collectively gasped
The livestream comments also flooded in.#
(No way, How can an emply coffin explain anything?
Il seriously don’t see how those two things are even connected J
Its she just trying to confuse everyone again?]
If thought so, too. Last time she pulled some weird stunt on livestream too, and the police arrested her for it!
But I didn’t care about their doubt because I finally understood everything.
Seeing how calm and confident I looked, Captain Shelton grew more thoughtful. He paused, then asked, “So why does this coffin hold the answer to those suicides?“W
I glanced over at my father’s grave and replied seriously, “Because it proves that my father isn’t actually dead. And he’s the one behind the murders of every single top–scoring student.“W
The moment I said that, the entire place exploded with shock.M
“Are you serious? A man who faked his death killed all those students?”
“No way. Her sister was the top scorer three years ago. There’s no way her dad would kill his own daughter”
“That would take a level of cruelty that’s just… Inhuman“W
Even Captain Shelton looked grim as he spoke to me.
“Our records show your father was a quiet, honest man. He worked hard all his life. Never had so much as a parking ticket. After marrying your mother, he became even more devoted. He loved her deeply and doted on your sister like she was everything to him.”
After narrating, he finally asked, “So, why would a man like that, so down–to–earth and family–oriented, fake his death for over a decade? What reason would he have to harm those students? And how could he possibly bring himself to murder his own daughter?” You could tell Captain Shelton was struggling. So many questions were hitting him all at once.
The people watching, botli at the scene and online, were staring at me, waiting and wanting answers./
As such, I turned to my mother and said clearly, “Because of my mom.”#
My words sparked another wave of gasps.
All eyes flicked between the two of us.
But my mother didn’t deny it.
In fact, she smiled.
She looked at me, almost proud, and said softly, “You really are my daughter. Smart, just like I thought.“#
Her calm acknowledgment sent chills down everyone’s spine.
Captain Shelton jumped on it. “What’s going on? Tell us everything.“W
I took a deep breath and nodded.
“Alright. Let me tell you a story. Over twenty years ago, my mom was still in high school. Back then, her family was dirt poor”
