How could it be Nathan!?

I felt dizzy looking at him.

The class president pulled the ribbon and enthusiastically introduced them. “Welcome, Nathan and Rachel.”

Only then did I notice that Rachel was following behind Nathan, looking listless.

Everyone started speculating. “They really are a good–looking couple. Do you think they’re dating?”

Marcus nudged me from the side. “But I still think my brother looks better than him.”

I immediately glared at him. “Shut up!”

Of course, my brother was better–looking.

Marcus was confused after I suddenly snapped at him. “Why are you suddenly so cranky?”

I covered his mouth, trying my best to lower my presence. Although initially, this body looked quite different from my original appearance, after three years, it had become more and more similar. Luckily, I wore a mask when I came today.

Nathan only glanced at me once when he first entered, then didn’t spare another look this way. He definitely didn’t recognize me.

The classmates suggested playing truth or dare.

Nathan was already eye–catching, and since he was today’s main character, everyone’s attention was on him.

Like Marcus, they were all curious about that question, and finally, someone seized the opportunity to ask Nathan.

“Do you have a girlfriend?”

“Yes.” Nathan’s calm response crushed many people’s hopes in the room.

But some still wouldn’t give up, and in the next round, continued asking, “Is your girlfriend in this room?”

Everyone stared intently at Nathan. My heart involuntarily tightened.

Nathan looked up, and I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination, but his gaze seemed to drift this way for a moment.

“Yes.”

Now, everyone had completely given up hope.

Nathan had just arrived, and his girlfriend was present, so it had to be Rachel.

Well, I admit, even knowing this answer, I still felt a bit sad.

Thinking about it now, dying back then was actually pretty good. If I had stayed by Nathan’s side and watched him get married and have children later, I probably would have gone crazy too.

Everyone seemed less enthusiastic in the second half. A male student sitting next to Nathan seemed to discover some- thing interesting and pointed at his earring, asking, “Your earring is so unique. It looks like it has flowing sand in- side.”

Nathan’s face finally showed some expression. He touched the star earring on his ear, and a gentle smile curved at the corner of his mouth.

“Yeah, this contains my sister’s ashes.”

Everyone suddenly fell silent. The class president sobered up considerably and quickly tried to change the subject. But someone who had drunk too much didn’t care about reading the room and asked, “Then why is it a star? Does it have any special meaning?”

This time, I definitely felt Nathan’s gaze fall on me.

“That’s because-

“Her name was Stella Garrett.”

My back was soaked with sweat, and my classmates all turned to look at me.

“What a coincidence, we also have a Stella Garrett in our class.”

“What an amazing fate.”

“Stella, why are you still wearing a mask today?”

I felt my heart was about to jump into my throat. And Nathan was staring straight at me, as if determined not to miss any expression on my face.

I fake–coughed twice, deliberately lowering my voice.

“Really… what a coincidence.

“I grew up in an orphanage, and I’ve always wanted to have a brother too.

“I have pollen allergies today. Did Nathan’s sister also have pollen allergies?”

Marcus looked at me, puzzled. “Since when do you have pollen allergies? How come I don’t know?”

I wanted to tear his mouth off.

“No.” Nathan was still staring at me, but the light in the room kept flickering, so I couldn’t make out the emotion in his eyes.

“But she was particularly good at lying.”
